The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced today that recording artist Adam Lambert will perform at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards Presented in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

The GLAAD Media Awards elevate and promote fair, accurate and inclusive stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, people and allies that have increased awareness, understanding and respect for the lives of LGBT people. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD’s work to amplify stories of LGBT people and issues that build support for equality.

“GLAAD has advocated for out music artists, including myself, and I am proud to be part of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards this year,” said Adam Lambert. “GLAAD’s work to share stories that grow acceptance and understanding about the gay and transgender community is so important in our culture today.”

Hollywood Domino is the new craze sweeping the world, and two launch events over the weekend attracted stars from across the celebrity spectrum to raise money for charity.

Friday night, November 7, saw the first of the launch events take place in London, with well-known faces such as Charlize Theron, Sienna Miller, Tom Hollander, Ridley Scott, and Giannina Facio in attendance to raise cash for the Charlize Theron African Outreach Project. This was followed on Sunday, November 9, by a second tournament in New York, attended by Salma Hayek, James Franco, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Jessica Alba, Molly Sims, Jeremy Piven, Kim Raver, Jason Lewis and many more to raise money for The Art of Elysium.

On Saturday May 31, stars converged at a private estate in Brentwood California to attend the 7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. Each year, Chrysalis helps more than 2,300 men and women transition from poverty, regain their dignity, and radically change their lives through jobs. And the impressive celebrity turnout speaks volumes to the good work being done by Chrysalis.

Rebecca Gayheart-Dane and her ‘McSteamy’ husband Eric Dane were the first couple to arrive.

“I feel very honored to be part of Chrysalis and that I get to do the work that I do,” said Rebecca Gayheart-Dane before the event. “It’s a great cause and this community has been so supportive and I so appreciate it.”

Celebrities, artists, actors, industry executives, and environmentalists joined Global Green USA CEO Matt Petersen for the 5th Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party last Wednesday, February 20, at the Avalon Nightclub in Hollywood.

The theme of this year’s event was “Time To Act: Reduce your Carbon Footprint today: Drive Green, Live Green, Vote Green”. The evening, emceed by HBO’s ‘Real Time’ host Bill Maher, raised $420,000 to benefit Global Green’s climate change initiatives, which include the green rebuilding of New Orleans.

“There are a lot of people in this town who talk a lot about (the issue), but these guys (Global Green) are actually doing something,” said Maher, who arrived at the event in a hybrid SUV.

Sunday night saw the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 16th annual Academy Awards viewing party, which this year raised $5.1 million thanks to its spectacular guest list.

The Pacific Design Center venue saw even more of Hollywood’s glitterati than anticipated, boasting the attendance of “Best Actress” award winner Marion Cotillard and “Best Supporting Actor” nominee Tom Wilkinson. Further top names present included Amy Adams, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, Sean Penn, Patricia Clarkson, Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford, Josh Groban, Faye Dunaway, Sean Combs, Seal and Heidi Klum, Prince, Kate Beckinsale, Billy Joel, Courtney Love, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Petra Nemcova, Jeremy Piven, Roberto Cavalli, Minnie Driver, Simon Cowell and Herbie Hancock.

The gala was co-hosted by Elton’s partner David Furnish, and included dinner, a musical performance by Elton himself and a live auction.
