Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens has donated the Candie’s Couture dress she wore at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards for a public charity auction on eBay to benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

The silk georgette size-two gown, frosted with silver baby sequins, designed exclusively for Hudgens, will go live Monday, January 23rd at 4PM PT/7PM ET through Thursday, February 2 at 4PM PT/7PM ET at ebay.com/vanessahudgens.

Stars Donate Shoes To Celebrity Charity Auction

Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity, has announced a complete line-up of A-list celebrities who decided to take off their shoes for a good cause.

What began as a staff shoe drive internally at NBCUniversal 30 Rock studios for the charity’s Japan relief efforts quickly caught on to stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Sir Elton John, sisters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, John Krasinski, Michelle Pfeiffer, Mariska Hargitay, Yoko Ono, the TODAY show cast, and many more. Jennifer Wilson, an NBCUniversal employee who helped initiate the celebrity shoe auction, said it was the kindness of organizations like Soles4Souls during Hurricane Katrina that drew her to help.

“I’m a Louisiana girl with family in New Orleans, so I saw first-hand the destruction, pain, and uncertainty that comes with a natural disaster,” Wilson said. “I started this to help those that helped us.”

NASCAR hero Jimmie Johnson and has teamed up with Samsung and Lowe’s for the Helmet of Hope contest, asking fans and the media to nominate their favorite charity to receive a $10,000 grant.

Here’s how it works: For six consecutive Sprint Cup races, Johnson – who established the Jimmie Johnson Foundation – will select two charities that focus on children, one from fan submissions and one from media submissions. The chosen charities’ logos will be added to Johnson’s helmet for the Pepsi 400.

“Giving away my helmet has a special meaning for me,” Johnson said last week when discussing his charity work, “When I was 15 years old, the team I drove for would take the drivers to visit sick children in local hospitals to hand out stickers and spend time with them. It was a great experience for the kids that were in really difficult situations. It was rewarding to be able to leave a smile on their face.”

Jeff Gordon Partners With Pepsi For Charity

Four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon recently competed against fellow teammates Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in an effort to win a $100,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant which would benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) at the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital.

Each driver outlined an idea for a project about which they were passionate. The idea with the most votes would then receive a $100,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to fulfill their initiative. In a very close race among all three drivers, Jimmie Johnson took home the checkered flag winning the grant for the Be The Match Foundation.

Pepsi generously awarded Gordon and Earnhardt. Jr. each a $25,000 grant for participating in the competition, the grants will be used for their respective initiatives. In a recent press conference Gordon announced that he would personally commit $75,000 in conjunction with Pepsi’s $25,000 grant in order to fulfill his project initiative to fund an additional Child Life Specialist to aid physically and sexually abused children at the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital. “When you feel as passionately as I do about funding programs that support the treatment and care of abused children, you have to be proactive” said Gordon

Nick Lachey Tees Off For Charity

Singer Nick Lachey and three-time defending NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson took part in their second annual Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic at the TPC Tampa Bay Golf Club on Super Bowl weekend, raising over $200,000 for charity.

The money will go to charities such as the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, the Nick Lachey Foundation, the March Of Dimes, the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

“The way our racing season falls, the Super Bowl is always one of the sporting events I get to enjoy,” Johnson said. “Now that Nick and I started Super Skins, the weekend has taken on a whole new meaning. Again, we want to thank everyone who supported our efforts this entire weekend and helped to get some well deserved funds to some great organizations.”

Tony Hawk, Nicole Richie and Fall Out Boy are on a mission to “re-gift” the classic fruitcake this Christmas with a new charity application on Facebook.

“The fruitcake has always been a bad gift. You never eat it or keep it. You just always end up re-gifting it,” said skateboarding legend Tony Hawk. “This year we’re changing the fruitcake and making it a symbol of giving and charity.”

Two-pound fruitcake bricks will be given away through a PayPal application on Facebook to benefit the stars’ favorite charities. Recipients will be invited via a personal video to contribute through PayPal to the charities and “re-gift” the fruitcake to friends and family all across the world.

The American Red Cross unveiled their 7th annual National Celebrity Cabinet yesterday, February 28, with 15 new members from movies, sports, and television.

Skateboard legend Tony Hawk will join former Beverly Hills 90210 and Dancing With The Stars alum Jennie Garth, Heroes’ Masi Oka, Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley, House M.D.’s Lisa Edelstein and Kal Penn, Ugly Betty’s Ana Ortiz, Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez, Scrubs’ Judy Reyes, Everyone Loves Raymond’s Patricia Heaton, Hairspray’s Brittany Snow, two-time NASCAR champion Greg Biffle, New York Yankee Robinson Cano, NFL star Matt Leinart, and Life Coach Iyanla Vanzant in the 2008 Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, part of a mobilizing force to urge people to perform extraordinary life-saving acts in dire circumstances through the assistance of the Red Cross.
