Daughtry To Donate Portion Of Tour Proceeds To Charity

Rockers Daughtry have announced the first leg of their upcoming tour in support of the multi-platinum selling rock band’s third album, Break The Spell (19 Recordings/RCA Records). Tickets go on sale over the next two weeks beginning Friday, January 20th, with some of the proceeds going to charity.

Daughtry’s “Break The Spell Tour” will begin its first leg on March 20 in Buffalo, NY and continue through April 30 when it concludes in New York, NY. Singer Chris Daughtry, guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock, bassist Josh Paul and drummer Robin Diaz are excited to bring their bigger than life show into theaters across the country to provide an intimate experience for fans.

Daughtry is pleased to welcome special guest Nashville-based pop rock group SafetySuit whose new album These Times debuted No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Opening the show is singer-songwriter Mike Sanchez.

Multi-platinum rock band Daughtry will bring their energetic live show and rock n roll anthems to American service members and their families overseas this holiday season, when they headline Tour for the Troops 2011, presented by the Air Force Reserve.

The band, whose music creates a gleaming showcase for Chris Daughtry’s powerful, emotionally resonant voice, will entertain U.S. military personnel at Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Incirlik Air Base, Turkey; Naval Station Rota in Spain, and a number of deployed locations in Southwest Asia from Nov. 30 to Dec. 10. Enrique Iglesias To Kickoff Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

Enrique Iglesias has announced that he will be the featured performer for The Salvation Army’s 15th annual Red Kettle Kickoff during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Miami Dolphins on November 24, 2011 (4:15 p.m. ET; CBS).

More than 40 celebrities from around the world are doing their part to help the Parkinson Society Maritime Region (PSMR) fight a disease that affects over a million people in North America.

Plates for Parkinson’s is a collection of celebrity signed and designed plates that are auctioned on eBay to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s. Celebrities are asked to draw a tulip – the Society’s symbol of hope on a plate – and this year over 40 plates will be auctioned – including designs by Chris Daughtry, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dennis Rodman, Martin Sheen, Jeff Bridges, Rachael Ray, Eartha Kitt, Sidney Crosby, Muhammad Ali, Alan Alda, Robert Downey Jr., Peter Facinelli, The Cast of CSI and many more!

Daughtry Rocks DNC, Packs Kits for Charity

Do-gooder rockers Chris Daughtry and his bandmates packed World Vision’s AIDS caregiver kits at a local Denver high school.

The students of Manual High School in Denver, Colorado were treated to a very special photo op last Tuesday: Daughtry was on hand to assist in the students’ efforts to pack AIDS caregiver kits to send to Africa.

Chris Daughtry and his bandmates thanked the school’s volunteers for their work and posed for photos inside a large ribbon which consisted of 6.1 million pennies – a penny for every person who has died of AIDS since the last election.

American Idol fans and readers of Look To The Stars should mark April 9 in their diaries, as that is the date set for the second annual “Idol Gives Back” charity show.

The Fox Network announced the date yesterday, and the guest lineup already includes Bono, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox, Reese Witherspoon, Snoop Dogg, and Chris Daughtry, with more names to be added in the next few weeks.

Last year’s show, emceed by Ellen DeGeneres, raised a phenomenal $76 million to benefit underprivileged children in America and overseas.

Top chef Mario Batali has teamed up with Oscar winner Marisa Tomei, Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman and former American Idol rocker Chris Daughtry to cook up a few Italian treats for a new online recipe book. Fans can download the recipies from the website www.CelebrityItalianTable.com. A dollar from every purchase will go to homeless charities.

This is not Batali’s first celebrity cookbook collaboration for charity. In November of 2006 he offered recipes to The Hollywood Cookbook.

Stars Keep On Giving

The giving just keeps on going this holiday season, with a whole bunch of celebrities donating items to charity auctions, and others taking the time to attend events and fork out massive amounts of money for good causes.

Such was the case on December 11, when the husband and wife team of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith paid $50,000 for a pair of artworks by Joan Miro and Salvador Dali at an auction in Chile.

“They bought the two works for a price much higher than their commercial value, because the proceeds of the auction went to UNICEF,” said Denise Ratinoff, head of the auction house that ran the event. “It was virtually a donation to UNICEF, and it helped a lot. Their presence in the auction made many other people also pay steeply for what they purchased.”
