Andrea Bocelli Launches Charity At Star-Studded Gala

Girard-Perregaux, iconic luxury Swiss watch brand, was proud to partner up with the Andrea Bocelli, the world’s highest selling solo artist in the history of classical music, in the launch of his new foundation, the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, with a 2011 Benefit Gala on December 9th.

The foundation was launched at a fundraising event produced by Studiomusica and Jo Champa presented by the Grammy Museum Foundation and held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles seeking to raise funds and awareness for its efforts to fight poverty around the world and to help people overcome barriers caused by illness, discomfort or disability.

Stars To Attend Andrea Bocelli Foundation Launch

The world’s highest selling solo classical musician, Andrea Bocelli, will launch the Andrea Bocelli Foundation with a star-studded event produced by Jo Champa and Studiomusica and presented by the Grammy Museum Foundation on December 9.

The intimate evening will include dinner and a concert by Andrea Bocelli, accompanied by David Foster, Heather Headley and Anna Maria Martinez along with special appearances to be announced. Also in attendance will be Camille Belle, Julie Benz, Michael Bolton, Pierce Brosnan, Natalie Cole, Kelsey Grammar, Quincy Jones, Rachel Evan Wood and many others.

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation will be a grant making body, aimed at supporting those living in poverty or overcoming barriers caused by illness and disability in order to deliver tangible, real life results. Two types of programs will be supported – those that alleviate poverty, and those that help people overcome barriers caused by illness, or disability. The Foundation will actively seek to identify innovative and original projects to support.

Grammy Award -winning Singer/Songwriter Michael Bolton and legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason will host “The Second Annual Michael Bolton and Dave Mason Celebrity Golf Classic” to benefit The Michael Bolton Charities (for children and women at risk) on Saturday, September 10 at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in Ojai, CA.

The day consists of a golf tournament beginning at 9:00 am for registration and 10:00 am tee off, followed by an awards reception from: 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. That evening, the silent auction reception will begin at 6:00 pm. Robin Gibb has rerecorded one of his most famous songs with a trio of singing soldiers for charity.

The Bee Gee has just recorded the finishing touches to I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You with “The Soldiers”, a trio made up of Trooper Ryan Idzi, Sergeant Major Gary Chilton and Sergeant Richie Maddocks. The Soldiers’ first album, Coming Home, became a hit on the British charts.

The single – due to be released in October – will once again benefit charities for members of the armed forces. Their first album benefited the Army Benevolent Fund, The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.

The Inaugural Michael Bolton and Dave Mason Benefit Concert and Celebrity Golf Classic will take place on Sunday, September 26th at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in California, an historic resort featuring luxury accommodations, a championship golf course and Spa Ojai.

Golfers will tee off at 9a.m. at the world-class Ojai Country Club, one of the first great golf courses in California. The day of golf will include breakfast, lunch and a cocktail/awards reception. Crooner Michael Bolton will dedicate two of his upcoming London concerts to members of the British armed forces.

The singer will be joined onstage by a band of British solders whose album, Coming Home, has become a hit on the British charts. The group – who call themselves The Soldiers – is made up of Trooper Ryan Idzi, Sergeant Major Gary Chilton and Sergeant Richie Maddocks, and has pledged all proceeds from the album to servicemen’s charities.They will join Bolton onstage at the Royal Albert Hall on November 2 and 3.

“I have great pleasure in welcoming The Soldiers to the shows at the Royal Albert Hall because I have always expressed 100 per cent support for the military at home and abroad,” said Bolton. "It is because of these people, the bravest of us all, that we have the lives and liberty that we cherish.

Samuel L. Jackson, star of films such as The Spirit, Snakes on a Plane and Pulp Fiction, will be hosting a star-studded benefit in London on June 11, 2009.

The benefit – which is called “Shooting Stars in Desert Nights” – will take place at two locations. Michael Bolton To Honor Kevin Bacon For Charity Work

Crooner Michael Bolton will show what a little time, love, and tenderness can do when he hosts the 16th annual Michael Bolton Charities Benefit Concert and Celebrity Golf Classic later this month.

Former host of ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America” Joan Lunden will return for her 16th year as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event, which kicks off with a concert on September 21 at the Rich Forum in Stamford. Joining Bolton at the show will be recording legends Dave Mason and Ben E. King, as well as Bolton’s New Haven Choir from NBC’s “Clash of the Choirs.” The following day, Bolton will host the celebrity golf tournament at Stamford’s Rickrimmon Country Club.

The singer will also honor actor Kevin Bacon and Warren Buffett’s wife Doris with Michael Bolton Charities Lifetime Achievement awards for philanthropy.
