Celebrity Doodles Raise Money For Cornwall Wildlife Trust

Unique celebrity doodles by the likes of Absolutely Fabulous actress Joanna Lumley, and comedian and presenter Frank Skinner, are set to raise vital funds on eBay for Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust has been protecting Cornwall’s wildlife both on land and in the seas since 1962 and is the county’s leading wildlife conservation charity. As part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Trust has invited well-known celebrities from stage, screen, sport, art, illustration, books, and science to draw marine themed doodles and donate them to Cornwall Wildlife Trust. An initial 28 celebrities have sent in their doodles, including Kurt Jackson, Jo Brand, Emma Thompson, Bill Oddie, Richard E. Grant, Sir Ben Kingsley, Joanna Lumley, Michael Murpurgo, Michael Winner, Frank Skinner, Antony Cotton, Daniel O’Donnell and Sharron Davies to name but a few!

Bill Oddie, national treasure, conservationist and star of the Goodies, was the first to create a doodle. Although it might have been expected that his doodle would feature birds, he decided to present a full page doodle entitled ‘Never Mind the Pollacks, What About the Whales? Whoever told them they could sing?’ His whales are doodled singing amongst other numbers, that old time favourite ‘Whale Meat Again’ and ‘Salmon-chanted Evening’. For the lucky bidder, as with all the doodles, comes an autograph endorsing that this was all his own work.

A Shakespearean actress, soul singing sensation, a world beating sailor and a passionate seafood champion have thrown their weight behind Britian’s National Trust’s biggest ever coastal appeal to acquire a stretch of the White Cliffs of Dover.
  
Dame Judi Dench, Joss Stone, Ben Ainslie and Rick Stein have joined thousands of people that have already supported the Trusts bid to raise £1.2 million to buy 1.35km of this much loved Kent coast.

Stars Donate Cupcake Recipes To Little Girl's Charity Cookbook

A host of stars have helped a 12-year-old British girl create a charity cookbook for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Nigella Lawson, Antony Worrall Thompson, Pixie Lott, Fearne Cotton, Melanie C, Sophie Dahl, Patsy Kensit, Amanda Holden and Richard E. Grant are some of the stars who replied to Georgie Sussman’s plea for cupcake recipes for the new book. Georgie aims to raise £20,000 for the hospital, inspired by a young friend who was treated there.

Stars Honor Inspirational Young People

Several socially-conscious celebrities joined Prince Charles at a special event on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate young people who have succeeded against the odds.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, Jenni Falconer, and Richard E. Grant were among the 1,500 people who attended the UK finals of the Celebrate Success Awards in London yesterday, March 18, to recognize the work of young people who have overcome homelessness, drug addiction, and unemployment to achieve business success with the support of the Prince's Trust.

“I am a great admirer of the Prince of Wales,” said Paltrow. “The work he has done through his charity to help young people is quite remarkable”.

A Recipe For Organic Living - Stars Feast For A Cause

It was a delectable night of weird and wonderful gastronomic delights when a group of celebrities were served a meal made from ingredients totally grown, plucked, picked, fished, harvested, collected, reaped, and gathered from in and around London late last week.

Over 400 guests, including Annie Lennox, Mick Jagger, Colin Firth, Jemima Khan, Richard E. Grant, Jamie Cullum, Sophie Dahl, and Sting's wife Trudie Styler, gathered in Guildhall for the “Feast Of Albion”, an event masterminded by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

Money raised from the $2000-a-head evening, which included a performance from Lennox, went to the Soil Association, the UK’s leading environmental charity promoting sustainable, organic farming, and championing human health.
