Damien Lewis is a trade justice ambassador for Christian Aid.

He has participated in many celebrity sporting events to raise money for worthy causes, including a Soccer Aid event in 2006 that raised £3 million for UNICEF

Lewis has raised money for Tsunami victims, done Carol Concert readings for cancer research and his fans have begun an annual Do a good deed for Damian campaign on his birthday where fans perform special acts of kindness for a charity on behalf of Damian Lewis.

He sent this message to his fans after learning of the campaign:
