A new celebrity charity album has been released for a good cause just in time for Christmas.

The Everychild Within Us CD features brand new, unreleased music from Zooey Deschanel’s She and Him and Burt Bacharach, as well as music by singer-songwriters such as Randy Newman, David Crosby, Shawn Colvin, Kenny Loggins, Lisa Loeb and Katrina Carlson. The new album also includes songs by Dave Koz and Jim Wilson.

Music and entertainment industry giants came together on November 4 for Songs of Hope VI, a special evening with live music and a silent auction benefiting City of Hope at the exclusive Esquire House LA.

The event featured intimate performances by The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins and K’naan. The Songs of Hope VI silent auction featured rare, one-of-a-kind music experiences and autographed items, including the opportunity to bid on Slash’s autographed top hat; a walk-on role in the new Jamie Foxx movie “Skank Robbers”, a pair of limited-edition THIEL “Sunburst” speakers numbered and signed by Les Paul, whose classic Sunburst guitar inspired them, original signed lyrics and Oscar-nominated scores and songs and a live auction for autographed sheet music and photo of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”

Honored at the event were Randy Newman and Carole Bayer Sager.

Musicians on Call has announced Grammy award winner James Taylor as the headliner for their 5th Annual Benefit Concert & Auction which will take place at the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square on February 24, 2009. The exclusive V.I.P. event will include a red carpet, with special appearances by artists and celebrities committed to the cause.

As music and philanthropy are at the core of the brand, Hard Rock International has partnered with Musicians on Call for the benefit event, helping the charity to continue its mission of room-to-room hospital performances by both local musicians and national celebrities.

The seasons may be changing, but there are still enough reasons to cuddle up on the couch in front of the television this week, especially on Thursday when two game shows see celebrities competing for charity. So grab a blanket, a cat, and a loved one, slip into some slippers, pour a drink, and put your feet up for a night on the couch.

The big attraction is NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice, which comes to a conclusion this week, with the last two contestants battling it out for good causes and glory. Country singer Trace Adkins will go head-to-head with British media personality Piers Morgan for the finale, with Donald Trump awarding $250,000 to the winner’s chosen charity.

Adkins will perform his new single, You’re Gonna Miss This, during the show, and the song will be available on iTunes immediately after the program is aired. Proceeds from the song will go to FAAN (the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network), which is also the singer’s chosen charity for the show.
