Tomorrow night, August 9, will see Eva Longoria Parker hosting her very own poker tournament for charity.

The Tony and Eva Parker Celebrity Casino Night will take place at Pedrotti’s North Wind Ranch in San Antonio, Texas. UltimateBet – an online poker room – has announced sponsorship of the event, and has also donated an Aruba Poker Classic prize package to the event’s live auction. The prize package includes a seat in this year’s Poker Classic, plus a head-to-head poker game and a lesson with 11-time World Series of Poker winner Phil Hellmuth in his personal suite in Aruba. The 2008 Aruba Poker Classic kicks off on September 27, and several celebrities have already confirmed their attendance – including Don Cheadle and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian.

Eva Longoria Parker’s event, which she is co-hosting with husband Tony Parker – the San Antonio Spurs star point guard – will raise money for the actress’ own charity, Eva's Heroes. The foundation aims to help individuals with developmental disabilities interact and grow, and was inspired by Longoria’s sister.

Basketball star Tim Duncan's passion for sport has grown from his professional life into other courts as well. In only six years, his Tim Duncan Foundation, has raised well over half a million dollars to support programs promoting youth sports, health, research and education.

Through fund raising events with other athletes, corporations and local celebrities, Duncan’s Foundation supports various programs in South Texas, US Virgin Islands and North Carolina. A mobile mammography unit for the uninsured, American Cancer Society, San Antonio’s Children’s Shelter and Kids Sports Network have all been beneficiaries.

The Foundation has also implemented the Tim Duncan’s Character Program, an incentive program for school kids to make good choices and demonstrate what Duncan and his wife, Amy, feel are the six key character traits: respect, integrity, fairness, dependability, caring and civic responsibility. Awards and gifts are given to over 3000 kids annually to recognize their good deeds.
