Eva Longoria To Celebrate Padres Charity 25th Anniversary

Padres Contra el Cancer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, will celebrate its 25th Anniversary at this year’s fund-raising gala.

The “EL SUENO DE ESPERANZA” gala returns to the historic Hollywood Palladium, with festivities beginning at 6:30 PM, paying tribute to PADRES’ extraordinary children and families, while at the same time raise funds for the lifesaving work of the organization. Honorees this year include Comedian/TV Host George Lopez and Enrique Alejo, long-time supporter of PADRES and Owner of Liborio Markets.

The “EL SUENO DE ESPERANZA” Award is PADRES’ signature honor named after ESPERANZA (HOPE), the angelic icon who conveys PADRES’ message about HOPE and inspiration. The award recognizes an individual or corporate partner for their humanitarian contributions in support of the cancer community, all the while exemplifying Honesty, Character, Integrity, Respect, Community Commitment and Service to Humanity.

Stars Bare Their Soles For Shoe Charity

Eva Longoria Hosts Makeover Madness For Charity

Eva Longoria, who holds the current position as Honorary Chair, took part in hosting a charity event, “Makeover Madness”, for the organization Rally for Kids with Cancer at celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves’ Hollywood salon.

Rally for Kids with Cancer is a foundation that raises funds for children’s cancer research, treatment, and awareness, often including celebrities as their biggest advocates. Their annual Cancer Scavenger Cup is an event for “races” between teams in exotic cars, fundraising a minimum of $25,000 for each Rally Driver.

At “Makeover Madness”, Ken Paves, who is a former participant in the race, donated the proceeds of his celebrity services to Rally for Kids with Cancer. Longoria also spent time with her fans outside the salon drawing with chalk on the ground and even joined in on the beauty for a cause by helping Paves trim the tresses of his clients.

Music Artist and Fashion Designer Jessica Simpson, along with friends Celebrity Hair Stylist Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb, have teamed up with Soles4Souls through 50KShoes.com to raise funds to send immediate relief to the victims of the devastated country of Haiti.

The charity has already pledged one million pairs of shoes to be distributed to Haitians during a sustained giving plan in coordination with other agencies.

“Let’s all do everything that we can for the victims in Haiti,” said Jessica Simpson. “Just five dollars will buy two people a pair of shoes.”
