Besides being interested in writing books, Alexander Smith, is also interested in music. He travelled to Botswana and established The No. 1 Ladies’ Opera House, a tiny opera house that also serves as a restaurant. The Opera House will help amateur singers in Botswana find a stage on which to perform.
In Botswana, he also visited SOS Children UK's Tlokweng Village.
Smith is a patron of the Alliance for Rabies Control. In 2009, he even recorded a video appeal on their behalf.
Not too long ago, the renowned author hosted a dinner party to raise money for a blood pressure charity.
