On Saturday, May 21st, Peppermill Resort Casino will host the fifth annual Jennifer Harman Celebrity Poker Tournament (JHCPT) benefiting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Nevada SPCA) No-Kill Shelter.

The JHCPT will take place in conjunction with the Nevada State Poker Championship, and will be included in Heartland Poker Tour’s (HPT) fall line-up of televised programming available in over 100 million homes across America.

The third annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament benefiting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary will be held at The Venetian Poker Room on Friday, April 17, in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated event raised more than $130,00 last year and awarded the winning participant a seat in the World Series of Poker. Prizes this year also give the winner a seat at the WSOP, and each player will receive a generous gift bag courtesy of the Nevada SPCA and its sponsors. Silent auction items will feature autographed sports and poker memorabilia.

Poker celebrities who have participated in the past include: Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan, Howard Lederer, Phil Hellmuth, Jamie Gold, Hoyt Corkins, Amarillo “Slim” Preston, Freddy Deeb, Evelyn Ng, Antonio Esfandiari, Joe Hachem, Barry Greenstein, Layne “Back to Back” Flack, Chau Giang, Chris Ferguson, David Chesnoff, David Williams, Huckleberry Seed, Jennifer Leigh, Scotty Nguyen, Dan Fleishman, Men Nguyen and many others.

Jennifer Harman Raises $111,000 In Charity Poker Tournament

Professional poker player Jennifer Harman hosted two days of fundraising activities in Reno, Nevada last week, raising more than $111,000 for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF).

Notable attendees included professional poker players Marco Traniello, Andy Bloch, Howard Lederer, Tiffany Michelle, Lacey Jones, Maria Ho, Linda Johnson, Todd Brunson, Roy Winston, Lee Watkinson, Lee Markholt, David Plastik, Debo DeBernardi, Shawn Van Asdale, Jan Fisher, Jeff Madsen and Marsha Waggoner, and ESPN commentator Lon McEachern, baseball legends Vida Blue and Tido Fuentes, World Champion snowboarder and X-Games judge Jeff Brushie, and NBA veterans Michael Brown and Doug Lee.

“This is the largest field of any charity event I have hosted,” said Harman. “The outpouring of support exceeded any expectations. I can’t thank the poker community enough for its generosity.”

Jennifer Harman To Play Poker For Kidney Foundation

Celebrity poker player Jennifer Harman is to hold a charity poker tournament to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation.

In 2004, Professional poker player Jennifer Harman took a year away from poker to have her second kidney transplant. After receiving a second kidney through organ donation, Harman founded Creating Organ Donation Awareness (CODA), a non-profit organization to raise money and awareness for the cause.

The two-day tournament will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno on March 11. A host of celebrities and poker pros have already signed up to play, including Marco Traniello, Howard Lederer, Tiffany Michelle, Linda Johnson, Maria Ho, Todd Brunson, Roy Winston, Lee Watkinson, Brad Booth, Andy Bloch, Olympic snowboarder Ross Powers, X-games snowboard judge Jeff Brushie, Assistant NBA coach Mike Brown and former Sacramento Kings player Doug Lee.

Jennifer Harman Holds A Royal Flush For SPCA

Last year, professional poker player Jennifer Harman held her Inaugural Charity Poker Tournament for the Nevada SPCA. Thanks to her efforts, the event raised $130,000 for the shelter in Las Vegas, affording them the opportunity to open two new wings for the no-kill shelter.

“It’s amazing what a difference even the smallest donation can make, let alone $130,000,” said Nevada SPCA Executive Director Doug Duke. “The new section will allow us to rescue and shelter about 1,000 animals.”

But Harmon didn’t fold her cards after the event – instead she doubled-up for the Second Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament which was held on Friday, April 18, inside The Venetian Poker Room, and included live/silent auctions and a first place prize of a seat into the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.
