&lt;p&gt;A host of celebrities have donated signed photos and memorabilia to the Alzheimer&amp;#8217;s Association&amp;#8217;s Elephant Project Auction. Stars such as Pink, Julie Andrews, Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Sarah Silverman, Shirley MacLaine, John Lithgow, Melinda Doolittle, William H. Macy, Jason Biggs, Jimmy Kimmel and many more have put their signatures on special photo cards for the auction, and all proceeds go to this great cause.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Created in 2006 by 18-year old David Niederhoffer after his grandfather passed away from Alzheimer&amp;#8217;s disease, the Elephant Project aims to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer&amp;#8217;s Association, and to get teenagers more active in community service.

  <description>The Millennium Promise and Malaria No More Annual Benefit took place last week at The Tent at Lincoln Center, raising over $2 million for the fight against extreme poverty and disease. The event honored the charities&amp;#8217; founders, Raymond G. Chambers, Peter Chernin, Professor Jeffrey Sachs and George Soros.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Grammy-winner John Legend presented an award to Jeffrey Sachs. Sachs&amp;#8217; book, The End Of Poverty was a catalyst in Legend&amp;#8217;s forming of the Show Me Campaign. American Idol&amp;#8217;s Melinda Doolittle presented an award to Peter Chernin, and performed &amp;#8220;Amazing Grace&amp;#8221; as part of the evening&amp;#8217;s entertainment. Ann Veneman, the Executive Director of &lt;span class="caps"&gt;UNICEF&lt;/span&gt;, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Managing Director of the World Bank, presented awards to Ray Chambers and George Soros, respectively.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Millennium Promise is on a mission to end extreme poverty by 2025. They have begun by taking steps to achieve the eight globally-endorsed Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa by 2015.

  <title>Country Singers Promote Dream Home Raffle</title>
  <description>Singers Vince Gill and Amy Grant appeared onstage at a show late last week to raise awareness of the June raffle of the 2008 St Jude Dream Home – a 3,871-square-foot house valued at $650,000.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The show, held in Franklin, Tennessee, also featured performances by the Wooten Brothers and American Idol finalists Melinda Doolittle and Phil Stacey. Over 800 people attended the event, many purchasing tickets for the Dream Home raffle.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Tennessee Dream Home is one of 34 Dream Homes across America, and organizers of the raffle hope to raise $1.6 million in what has become an annual event. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the St. Jude Children&amp;#8217;s Research Hospital, one of the world&amp;#8217;s premier pediatric cancer research centres.
