Tracy Lawrence To Play Final Annual Charity Concert

Country singer Tracy Lawrence will play his final annual charity Homecoming Concert on Saturday, June 6, at Foreman Memorial Stadium, in Foreman, Arkansas.

Joining Lawrence for the concert, which has raised more than $1,000,000 over the last 15 years, will be Tracy Byrd, Richie McDonald, Neal McCoy, Clay Walker, 3 Doors Down and Zona Jones.

“We’ve had a great time putting on the Homecoming Concerts and the return, to actually see how our efforts have contributed to the strength and education of a new generation, has been so gratifying,” said Lawrence. “Unfortunately, we’ve run our course with this particular event and the production costs have moved us to seek out other alternatives that will benefit the community in the long run. We’re going to regroup to explore more cost-effective ways to raise funds for the kids.”

Proceeds from the Tracy Lawrence Homecoming Concert will benefit the Tracy Lawrence Foundation. Established by Lawrence in 1993, the foundation has raised monies through various fundraising events and performances to improve the quality of life for residents in over 35 communities and assisted and enhanced civic group activities in and around Foreman.

“We wanted to be able to do things for the school and for the community that would help the town grow,” he said. “We’ve achieved and exceeded a number of our goals and plan to continue to raise funds and awareness for important causes that affect us all.”

Tracy Lawrence To Hold Charity Golf Tournament Next Week

Country star Tracy Lawrence is to hold his fifteenth annual charity golf tournament next week.

Proceeds from the tournament – to be held at the Texarkana Golf Ranch in Texarkana, Texas, on Monday, April 20 – will go to the Tracy Lawrence Foundation.

“It’s so important to me to give back to the community where I spent my childhood… where my life took shape,” said Lawrence. “I’m in a place in my life where I can help friends, families and communities mold the future of others and that’s a wonderful gift to give.”

The Tracy Lawrence Foundation positively influences and improves hundreds of thousands of residents’ lives and has donated more than $1 million to over 35 communities and civic groups in and around Foreman, Arkansas, over the last 14 years. During that time, the foundation has assembled and equipped a computer lab for Tracy’s alma mater, Foreman High School; constructed an outdoor pavilion for Watersprings Ranch, a home for abused and neglected children dedicated to restoring their childhood; been an active, repeat sponsor for the Alzheimer’s Walk in Texarkana (Tracy is also the national spokesperson for the Alzheimer’s Association); sponsored the local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) which places abandoned and abused children with foster parents; funded two scholarships to assist with housing, food, books and tuition expenses for students at Texarkana College and Southern Arkansas University; and provided funding for books at Foreman Public Library.

Country Stars Record Charity CD To Rebuild School

Clint Black, Joe Diffie, George Jones, Tracy Lawrence and Darryl Worley who have contributed to a new CD to help rebuild an Alabama high school destroyed by a tornado last year.

Enterprise High School was ripped apart when a tornado smashed through it on March 1, 2007, killing 8 students. Since then, the students of Enterprise High School have been attending classes in trailers and temporary outlets.

“We Are Enterprise: The Album To Help Rebuild Enterprise High School” is the brainchild of Enterprise resident Ronnie Gilley and Clint Black’s producer, James Stroud.

“When Ronnie made me aware of the suffering his community had endured and the ongoing hardships facing its high school students and faculty, I wanted to help any way that I could,” said Stroud. “We had the idea to craft an album that would not only help with the cost of rebuilding the school, but that would also uplift the community with its message. Once we started calling our artist friends and hearing their desire to lend their time and talent, we knew the idea would work.”

The 11-song album – which features songs written and recorded especially for the project – will be released on December 16.

Double The Name And Double The Fun At Charity Concert

Get ready to dozey-doe and head on down to a hoe-down with a cause on June 28, when two of today’s biggest country music stars headline a charity gig in New Jersey.

The venue will be the House of Blues Music Hall in Atlantic City, and the stars will be Tracy Lawrence and Tracy Byrd – two singers who will be sharing more than just first names on the night.

The gig will benefit Fourth and Goal, a charity started by former Baltimore Colts safety Bruce Laird to act as the voice of retired NFL players and their families. The event kicks off the inaugural Smith & Nephew Fourth and Goal Classic at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, a two-day event that includes a celebrity golf tournament and silent auction. The grand finale will feature a performance by both Tracys and fellow country music artist Pat Green.

“I have been a huge football fan my entire life,” said Lawrence. “I think it is with great purpose that Fourth and Goal is generating an awareness surrounding the NFL players who are suffering from injuries and are now either unable to afford the treatment necessary or unable to secure a job outside of their sports career to sustain a normal lifestyle. I’m really excited in the opportunity to perform and raise money for Fourth & Goal, to lend a hand to help the legends with their hardships.”
