Beaulieu Vineyard, the great American winery at the heart of the Napa Valley with 111 years of history in fine winemaking, and the Official Wine Sponsor of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, has bottled up a very special way to benefit the Television Academy Foundation’s education programs.

BV created a custom-etched and painted, 27-liter bottle of the winery’s flagship Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The 27 liter is the largest bottle produced for the wine industry, holds the equivalent of 36 bottles of wine, stands 3.5 feet high and weighs over 110 pounds when full.

Mike Weir Announces Celebrity Players For Charity Golf

The celebrity and PGA TOUR professional field that will participate in the 2010 Mike Weir Charity Classic has been confirmed.

The second annual event will kick off tournament week of the RBC Canadian Open on Monday, July 19th at the historic St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto, with net proceeds benefiting The Mike Weir Foundation.

The marquee group of celebrities from television, film, music and sports includes Samuel L. Jackson, George Lopez, Kevin Dillon, Tom Cochrane, 2010 Olympic gold medalists Jon Montgomery, Rick Nash, Martin Brodeur, NHL superstars Dion Phaneuf and Steven Stamkos as well as CFL legend Damon Allen. A host of veterans and emerging stars from the PGA TOUR such as Anthony Kim, Fred Couples, Luke Donald, Camilo Villegas, Stephen Ames, Paul Casey, Sean O’Hair and Retief Goosen will also participate.

Lisa Edelstein along with Eric and Tania Idle are Honorary Co-Chairs for the night, which supports the Best Friends Animal Society. The party’s honorary committee includes animal lovers such as Adrian Grenier, Charlize Theron, Nicollette Sheridan, Bill Maher, Dan Aykroyd and Willie Nelson, to name but a few.

The event raises funds for the Society’s programs in LA, which improve and save the lives of animals, including: A Puppy-Store-Free LA, Pet Adoption Festivals, Date with a Dog, Indie Rescue, Catnippers, Best Friends Brigade, Pup My Ride Transport Program.

The stars were out – clear and bright – on September 16 for An Evening of New Dreams, raising money for the Somaly Mam Foundation.

Susan Sarandon, Daryl Hannah, Petra Nemcova, Jane Seymour, Ashlee Simpson, Kevin Connolly, Kim Kardashian, Kevin Dillon, Seal, Emily Deschanel, Peter Wentz, and Ron Livingston were some of the stars who came together in Beverly Hills for the gala event which featured musical entertainment from Bonnie Raitt. Catered by Tommy Tang and held at the private residence of Foundation supporters Jeff and Mei Sze Greene, the evening raised awareness of global sex trafficking.

The Somaly Mam Foundation is dedicated to combating the global sex slave trade through the rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of victims and through raising global awareness on the issue by funding organizations in various parts of the world that are combating sexual slavery in the field. Named after a survivor of the abhorrent problem, the foundation rescues girls from brothels and offers them shelter and safety, basic education, and reintegration into new communities.

Christina Lindley is best known for her steamy photos in Maxim Magazine, but she’s also a professional poker player who is excited to be taking part in a No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament for charity on May 31 at the Hawaiian Gardens in LA benefiting Last Chance For Africa and Mentors For Youth.

“I’m really excited to be brought in on this,” Lindley told Gambling911.com’s Jenny Woo. “It’s for two great charities. It’ll be a red carpet event along with a green room. We’re playing an actual full tournament and the best part is that the winnings go to the charity.”

Lindley spoke enthusiastically about the charities involved, “Mentors for Youth was started by a police officer here in LA and is a mentoring program for troubled and underprivileged children. I think that’s really important especially in LA and our country. There’s a deficit of male and female role models. The other charity is Last Chance for Africa – they’re actually building an orphanage in Africa for children. They’re accumulating land and building on it so the whole thing can be a self-sustaining deal for the kids there. That’s what’s great about the website! Despite his dark performance, there really is a lighter side to the actor. In the past, Depp’s charitable work garnered him the Courage to Care Award for his contributions to the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
