The annual BTIG Commissions for Charity Day will host celebrities at several of BTIG’s offices including New York, Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco. Sheckler Foundation Announces Date for Annual Charity Event

Skateboarding phenomenon, Ryan Sheckler, has announced the date for his Third Annual Celebrity Skins Golf Tournament to be played at the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes California on October 19, 2010.

Founded in 2008, the Sheckler Foundation was created as an avenue for Ryan Sheckler, his family, friends and business associates to give back to the community and industry that they are so grateful for. Fueled by the ultimate goal of contributing to the many causes that directly benefit and enrich the lives of children, it is also their desire to support and fund programs that help injured action sports athletes.

The money raised through the Sheckler Foundation will be used to fund medical research that focuses on curing childhood disease, spinal cord injuries and enrichment programs for children in underprivileged communities.

Celebrities To Make A Difference At We Promise Charity Gala

The red carpet is being rolled out and the stars will be present in Virginia Beach on September 1, 2010, at the We Promise Foundation's Diamonds in the Sky Gala black tie fundraising event to benefit children with life-threatening illnesses.

BTIG LLC, an institutional broker dealer specializing in trading and related brokerage services, held its annual Commissions for Charity Day yesterday. The company donated equity, fixed income and derivative trading commission profits earned on Thursday, May 6 to a group of children’s charities.

In BTIG’s New York office, Matt Dillon, Michael J. Fox, Joe Girardi, Nick Swisher, John McEnroe, Bode Miller, Sean Avery, NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer and WNBC-TV’s Bruce Beck took part, while in San Francisco, Tony Gonzalez, Steve Young, Joe Morgan and Ronnie Lott joined BTIG’s West Coast team as celebrity traders.

The 2009 San Diego Celebrity Classic is set to take place at Morgan Run Resort & Club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA on April 24-26, 2009, to raise money for San Diego charities.

The yearly event attracts the best-of-the-best celebrity golfers and has raised more than $1M for local San Diego charities since it’s inception in 1999. So I make this the one that I do,” he told Integrated Sports Marketing. “I guess I’ve done it every year but one for like the last 8 or 9 years. So it is important. If I can help out just by playing golf, it doesn’t get any better than that. So I try to do what I can, but I always try to do this one. And my goal is not to come in last.”

Bode Miller’s Lucky Turtle Necklace

During the 2007-08 Season, alpine skier Bode Miller won the World Cup Overall & World Cup Super Combined titles. He’s won six World Cup races and has 31 career wins, which is the most in US history and 6th in alpine racing history. So what’s a good ol’ boy from New Hampshire to do when there’s no snow around? He gives back to charity of course.

Bode’s Turtle Ridge Foundation caught the attention of designer Rachel Leigh, who has designed a ‘lucky turtle’ necklace to benefit the TRF. With a little more help coming from TRF supporter Jessica Biel, the special necklace has been generating quite a buzz in the media. US Weekly, ComoGirl, Seventeen and Sports News TV are all talking about the turtle! Anchorwoman Kathryn Tappen can be seen wearing the turtle necklace on camera and Dancing with the Stars’ Lisa Rinna has also been seen proudly sporting her turtle.
