Sean Penn And Miley Cyrus Feature In Celebrity Charity PSA For Haiti

J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) is proud to unveil a special new PSA campaign entitled “Help Haiti Home” featuring actors and artists such as Sean Penn, Edward Norton, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, LL Cool J, Eric Dane and Pras describing what home means to them, connecting the dots to the struggles many Haitian people still face.

The project was conceived by actress and advocate Soleil Moon Frye after an inspiring trip to Haiti and a visit to J/P HRO Petionville Camp. She produced the spots and co-directed them along with the help of her brother, renowned photographer Meeno Peluce,

Kim Kardashian has blogged about a very special charity event taking place in March 2012.

“This year I was diagnosed with psoriasis, a hereditary, genetic, autoimmune disease that effects over 125 million people around the world and currently has no cure,” she wrote on her official blog. "On March 4 2012 it will be the sixth annual Walk To Cure Psoriasis and I hope you guys will join me in helping raise funds and awareness for the event. Over the last five years they have raised almost 1.5 million dollars to help research for a cure and there are now 22 walks across the country! They also started the first ever DNA BioBank, which is used by researchers across the country and the money from the walk goes directly to this.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced today that recording artist Adam Lambert will perform at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards Presented in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

The GLAAD Media Awards elevate and promote fair, accurate and inclusive stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, people and allies that have increased awareness, understanding and respect for the lives of LGBT people. Celebrities en route to the Academy Awards this year will make a pit-stop beforehand to take part in the 3rd Annual Pre-Oscar Hollywood Domino Gala Benefiting Artists for Peace and Justice.

The much anticipated dominos tournament of the Academy Awards, invites iconic personalities of Hollywood, such as Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron and Demi Moore, to play at ‘bar210’ in an effort to aid Haiti and its people. This black tie ‘island style’ evening will include specialty Disaronno cocktails and delectable hors d’oeuvres by Executive Chef Marcel Vigneron and music by DJ Jus Ske.

The World Poker Tour’s Celebrity Invitational will feature over 100 stars of screen and poker, including Marlon Wayans, Eric Dane, Hank Azaria, Teri Hatcher, Jesse Metcalfe, Michael Vartan, Matt Lillard, Billy Burke, Zachary Quinto, Willie Garson, Benji Madden, Ricki Lake, Shannon Elizabeth, Jennifer Tilly and many more.

Friday, September 12, saw the sixth annual Tom Arnold Celebrity Roast take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The star-studded event raised over $1 million to benefit the Kayne Eras Center program of the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, and honored Academy Award-winning producer and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch.

Stars Design Watches For Poverty Organization

Singer Mary J. Blige is one of three celebrities to design watches to raise money for Chrysalis.

The 37-year-old R&B artist has joined with Eric Dane and Russell Simmons to design limited edition Ernst Benz Chronoscope watches to support the work of the non-profit organization devoted to assisting individuals escape homelessness and poverty. The timepieces are part of a collection entitled “Time for Change”.

“I knew that I wanted to support Chrysalis after learning of the organization, but after attending this year’s Butterfly Ball, I am even more dedicated to supporting this project,” said Leonid Khankin, Managing Director and Designer for Ernst Benz. “This limited edition watch collection is just one step towards raising funds and awareness for an organization doing incredible work to change lives and give people back their dignity.”

On Saturday May 31, stars converged at a private estate in Brentwood California to attend the 7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. Each year, Chrysalis helps more than 2,300 men and women transition from poverty, regain their dignity, and radically change their lives through jobs. And the impressive celebrity turnout speaks volumes to the good work being done by Chrysalis.

Rebecca Gayheart-Dane and her ‘McSteamy’ husband Eric Dane were the first couple to arrive.
