Jars Of Clay Release Charity EP For Flood Relief

Rockers Jars Of Clay have released a special charity EP to help victims of Nashville’s floods.

“On May 1st and 2nd of 2010, our hometown of Nashville and its surrounding areas suffered a devastating flood,” said the band. “The impact of this extremely rare event was felt by us and countless others in our community, resulting in loss of life and over $1.5 billion in damage to property and infrastructure.”

The band really did feel the effects of the flood – their entire studio was flooded.

Jars Of Clay Kicks Off Charity Campaign

The award-winning Christian music group Jars Of Clay has helped the United Methodist Church kick off its “Imagine No Malaria” campaign on World Malaria Day on April 25, in Austin, Texas.

The band was the headlining act in a concert spanning the afternoon held on the steps of the Texas State Capitol. The event was attended by hundreds of very enthusiastic supporters and was broadcast live on the United Methodist Church’s website.

The “Imagine No Malaria” campaign is an awareness raising as well as a fundraising effort to provide thousands of bednets to some of the poorest children in Africa. Children are especially vulnerable to the adverse effects of malaria. It is estimated that at least three thousand children die everyday from malaria.

Nashville To Rock For Africa

Some of country music’s biggest stars will appear at a concert in Nashville tomorrow, April 22, to raise funds for education in Africa.

Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley, Brad Arnold from 3 Doors Down, and Big Kenny will join Damien Horne, Ashley Cleveland, Third Day, Jars Of Clay and many more at the Nashville4Africa concert, to be held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the building of two new schools in Africa and funding additional educational efforts.

Switchfoot Kicks Off Habitat For Humanity Auction

An exciting new charity auction featuring Switchfoot, Third Day, Jars Of Clay, and Robert Randolf and the Family Band has kicked off on eBay.

Through a program run by Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity, proceeds from the auction will benefit Habitat For Humanity local affiliates in cities where the Music Builds Tour will play this summer and fall. Launched in 2000 with a 20 house “blitz build”, Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity (HFHFH) is an entertainment industry partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Actors, screenwriters, musicians, agents, directors, producers, studio executives and label executives are among the thousands of volunteers who have helped build homes for people in need, in the United States and around the world.

The winner in each city will receive two premium tickets to the show, a private meet and greet with the bands, tour merchandise, and an autographed copy of the new Third Day album “Revelation” (on-sale July 29).
