John Stamos Drums For America At Charity Event

On Thursday, November 3, John Stamos joined the classic rock band America to present Helping Change Happen: An Evening of Music, Merriment, and Making a Difference.

Held at West Hollywood’s acclaimed Red O restaurant, the red carpet drew a star-studded, standing-room only crowd to learn about mothers2mothers (m2m), a non-profit organization working to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa. America culminated the night with a musical performance including their classic hits “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” and “Sister Golden Hair.”

On hand to lend support for the evening were Stamos’ former Full House cast-mates Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin, along with Full House creator Jeff Franklin. Also in attendance were Jerry Ferrara, Nia Vardalos, Ian Gomez, Nancy Ritter, Peri Gilpin, Annabeth Gish, and Linda Cardellini. VIP Patrons included Robert and Catherine Beyer, Marvin and Sondra Smalley, and Miles and Angie Rogers. VIPs and celebrities alike toasted with tequila and tapas before the event.

John Stamos: Helping Change Happen At mothers2mothers Charity Event

Actor John Stamos is to host an evening of entertainment and empowerment benefiting mothers2mothers International, a nonprofit that works to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Africa.

The event, to be held on November 3rd at 6pm, will feature a musical performance by classic rock band America, whose 40-year career has produced 16 albums and a number of chart-topping hits, including “A Horse With No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair,” and “Ventura Highway.”

“Helping Change Happen: An Evening of Music, Merriment, and Making a Difference” will support the efforts of mothers2mothers (m2m). Every day, 1,000 babies in Africa are born with HIV – compared to one a day in the U.S. and Europe. There is global consensus that mother-to-child transmission of HIV can be virtually eliminated by 2015, in part by addressing the needs of pregnant women and new mothers living with HIV. mothers2mothers works to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV with a simple and effective model. m2m educates, employs, and empowers mothers living with HIV to keep themselves and their children healthy. In 2010, m2m reached one in every five pregnant women in the world living with HIV.

Bette Midler's Celebrity Charity Auction To Close Soon

What do Cher, John Stamos, John McEnroe, Kristin Chenoweth and Rod Stewart have in common? They are among the myriad of celebrities that have come together for an online auction celebrating 15 years of New York Restoration Project’s cleaning and greening of New York City!

The auction is brimming with fabulous lots donated by dear and divine friends of NYRP’s Founder, Bette Midler, who share her dream (and ours!) of a cleaner, more beautiful New York City. Music connoisseurs can choose between “turning back time” with Cher at her Caesars Palace show, golfing with shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper in Scottsdale, or being charmed by Rod Stewart at his O2 performance in London.

John Stamos To Rock n' Roll For Charity

Actor John Stamos will make an appearance at a special night of Rock n’ Roll benefiting Project Cuddle tonight, June 10.

The event celebrates the public opening of the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in New York, and will feature great food and drinks, and the chance to look through the history of popular music – with a selection of items from Bob Dylan to Bruce Springsteen, Madonna to John Lennon.

Project Cuddle is a 24-hour crisis line for women who are hiding their pregnancies and is the result of one woman’s crusade to help prevent infants from being abandoned, Debbe Magnusen. Since its inception, the organization has saved over 600 babies across the US and into Canada from the fate of being abandoned or worse. Project Cuddle works with frightened girls or women and helps them find safe, legal options so that they never have to leave a baby at a dumpster, a church or dirty back alley.

Bette Midler And 50 Cent Together For Charity

The devine Bette Midler is joining with 50 Cent and Dolly Parton to host her annual Spring Picnic to benefit the New York Restoration Project.

The event will take place at Fort Tryon Park, New York City, on May 19, and will include a BBQ and entertainment.

Midler founded the New York Restoration Project in 1995 to improve the natural balance of life in the city. The organization is based on the belief that clean, green neighborhoods are fundamental to the quality of life, and that every community in New York City deserves an oasis of natural beauty. Seeing many parks and open spaces in dire need of clean-up and restoration, Midler created NYRP to be the “conservancy of forgotten places,” particularly in New York City’s underserved communities.

Shaq O'Neil Records PSA For Childhelp USA

NBA great Shaquille O’Neal was in Phoenix, Arizona, this week to record a PSA – directed by Casper Van Dien – for Childhelp USA.

The Phoenix Suns center is the latest in a long line of celebrity supporters and ambassadors for the charity – dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect – including Leeza Gibbons, Glenn Frey of the Eagles, Jane Seymour, Catherine Oxenberg, and John Stamos.

“Everyone said you just have to have Shaq,” charity founder Sara O’Meara told ABC15. “And so we said we’ll get him. These economic times are so bad and people who made pledges in the past and honored them are no longer able to honor them, so when people step up to the plate, like Shaq, it makes a great detail of different to a charity.”

It's Business Time For The Flight Of The Conchords

Grammy award-winning comedy duo Flight of the Conchords are part of a huge new auction being run to raise cash for charity.

The Conchords shot to fame in 2007 when their quirky television series debuted on HBO and immediately received ratings and critical acclaim.
Now – as part of the annual Grammy Charities Auction – you have the chance to bid on an acoustic guitar, DVD and CD signed by “New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo.”
