Swinton and Coen Brothers Press Palms for Charity

The annual Venice Film Festival might be a swanky affair, but the stars are getting down and dirty this year.

Oscar winner Tilda Swinton, Ethan and Joel Coen, and others are pressing their hands into clay as part of a fundraising effort to save the iconic St. Mark’s Square.

Though initially concerned that her print would “look like a bird’s hand,” Swinton succeeded in making her prints, which she then signed. The clay handprints are being collected by Lancia, the Italian automaker. The prints will be auctioned on eBay, with proceeds going to the St. Mark’s Square restoration effort.
