Smallville Star Goes Naked For Charity

With her naked body painted to resemble a lizard’s skin, Canadian actor Laura Vandervoort—known for her roles on TV’s Smallville and V, among others—is the star of a brand-new PETA ad campaign exposing the cruelty of the exotic-skins industry that reads, “Whose skin are you in? Leave wildlife out of your wardrobe.”

The ad, shot by Nick Saglimbeni for SlickforceStudio, was revealed by Vandervoort in person during Toronto Fashion Week during the weekend.

Stars To Celebrate World Peace Day At Bullets4Peace Event

A number of celebrities will come together on Wednesday for a very special World Peace Day celebration in Hollywood with Bullets4Peace.

The third annual Reloading Life event will feature a very special live performance by peace activist and international vocal sensation Liel Kolet, with a guest list that includes host Chris Noth, Bullets 4 Peace founder Rafi Anteby, LOVA Tea co-founders Stephanie Cence and Tara Wilson, Akon, America Ferrera, Bill Maher, Bobby Brown, Boris Kodjoe, Brandon T. Jackson, Brandy, Brian McKnight, Cedric the Entertainer, Chris Pine, Cynthia Nixon, Dennis Haysbert, Donald Faison, Eric Dane, Esai Morales, Eva Marcille, Forest Whitaker, George Lopez, Hill Harper, Idris Elba, Jill Hennessy, John Corbett, John Slattery, Jordin Sparks, Julie Benz, Kathy Griffin, Kiefer Sutherland, Keke Palmer, Kristin Davis, Kyle Maclachlan, Lance Gross, Lenny Kravitz, Paul Johansson, Regina King, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sean Penn, Shannon Elizabeth, Taraji P. Henson, Tatyana Ali, Travis Barker, Vivica Fox, Zoe Kravitz, Wayne Brady and many others.

Bullets4Peace is a jewelry line made of recycled bullet casings taken from reload centers, streets, and war zones. When a bullet is fired the tip flies towards the target and the casing falls to the ground. Manufacturers reload these casings with live ammunition. Bullets4Peace intercepts this vicious cycle by transforming the casings into unique and stylish pendants insuring that these bullets will never find their way back to war zones, thus promoting harmony and peace. Bullets4Peace transforms war bullets into beautiful and unique jewelry as a way of spreading consciousness of peace.

Taraji P. Henson Goes Nude For PETA

Actress Taraji P. Henson is the latest star who would rather go naked than wear fur in PETA’s long running campaign.

“When I realized what went into – we’re not just even talking about a full-length fur coat, I’m talking about just … fur on your gloves or on your jacket – what goes into making that little piece of fur ripped my heart out,” said the actress. “And as humans, we have control. What if someone said, ‘Black skin is the new fur’?”

Taraji P. Henson Adopts Struggling Family

Star of the upcoming film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Taraji P. Henson showed her humanitarian side when she “adopted” a struggling family in New Orleans recently.

Henson – who made her name as star of 2005’s Hustle & Flow – said she didn’t want to just donate toys and goods to the single mother and her two children, but wanted to become actively involved in rescuing them from their desperate situation.

“This woman lost everything during Katrina and came back and got her little apartment,” said the actress. “She had two daughters she was raising by herself and then her apartment caught on fire, so she lost everything twice. I wanted to give her something besides toys – because where would they put it? They didn’t have anywhere to stay. So I collected three months’ worth of rent to make sure she got a place to stay.”
