Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Camryn Manheim will return as host of the annual Children’s Institute, Inc celebrity charity poker tournament this weekend.

Expected to attend the event are Wedil David, Ken Davitian, Tony Denison, Willie Garson, Erik Pallidino, Mimi Rogers, Sara Rue, Grant Show and many others.

Children’s Institute, Inc. helps children who have been affected by violence in their homes or communities. Since 1906, CII has served at-risk children and families in some of Los Angeles’ most devastated neighborhoods. CII provides healing and support so that traumatized children can recover and lead healthy lives. They lead children away from tragic outcomes and on a path toward opportunity and achievement.

The fourth annual Children’s Day Celebrity Charity Celebration in Los Angeles will take place this weekend.

Children’s Day 2011 kicks off with an All-Valley Parade at Woodley Park at 9am, featuring high school bands – and you! Enter the park on a red carpet and begin a magical day of kids activities and entertainment featuring Radio Disney performances, ESPN X Games skateboard clinics, storytelling by Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson and Honorary Mayor of SFV) and celebrity friends, celebrity and sports icons’ autographs for the whole family, arts & crafts, US Marine Corps armored Humvee, rock climbing and more.

Nancy Cartwright, the iconic voice of Bart Simpson and Honorary Mayor of the North Valley, is hosting the 6th Annual Happy House Poker Tournament and BBQ at her Northridge home on May 28.

All proceeds will go towards Happy House, a non-profit corporation, and the Happy House Good Choices Program. While adults play Texas Hold Em’ with friends and attending celebrities like Camryn Manheim, among others, there will be lots of games for the kids, so bring the family. Poker players must be 21 or over. Prizes will be awarded to the top players.

Co-Founded by Nancy Cartwright, Happy House aims to help bring about a safer community by “Building Better Families.”

Dozens of Hollywood, sports, and poker celebrities will rush Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this Super Bowl weekend to determine who is this year’s Trash Talk Champion of the World.

On Saturday, February 6th, Sin City’s premier property will host a $1,000 + $70 straddle no-limit hold’em charity poker tournament benefiting the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Master of ceremonies will be Michael Godard, a modern artist who dedicates himself to philanthropic causes through his work. The Hollywood Note Foundation will hold its annual Change The World Awards this Sunday, May 31.

The award ceremony – hosted by Scott Baio and his wife Rene – will attract a large number of stars who will be recognized for their personal efforts to make the world a better place. Recipients will include Band From TV – featuring Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, Bonnie Somerville, Hugh Laurie, James Denton, Jesse Spencer and Teri Hatcher – who will recieve the Humanitarian Award of Inspiration. Also being honored are Ed Begley Jr., who will be presented with the Humanitarian Lifetime Achievement Award, Bart Simpson’s voice Nancy Cartwright – who will receive the Change The World Public Service Award – and many others, including Aimee Teegarden, Kevin Sorbo, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Sumpter, and Michael Bernard Beckwith.

Join Bart Simpson And Friends For Children's Day

The voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, will be one of the attendees of the first annual San Fernando Valley Children’s Day event this Saturday, November 22.

Hosted by NBC’s Fritz Coleman, the day will feature a whole heap of fun and games like face painting, a space museum, a petting zoo, rock climbing, a pro skateboarding demonstration, and members of the LA Galaxy soccer team will be on hand for a special David Beckham Soccer Academy. There will also be live entertainment from Aaron Carter, and an appearance by Laker great AC Green.

Children’s Day is celebrated in many countries, but the biggest and grandest celebration is in Turkey, where an International Children’s Day was established in 1935, and now every April sees children from all over the world come to Turkey for a week of celebrations and festivities. Many of the events are broadcast on Turkish TV, showing the children in their traditional national clothing as they sing and dance. Then, to cap it off, on April 23rd the seats of Parliament are held by children, and a child even becomes President for the day, delivering a speech on national TV!

Bart Simpson’s alter ego Nancy Cartwright will hold her third annual Happy House Poker Tournament and BBQ this Saturday, October 18.

The potluck event will include games for the kids, information on how Happy House is building a safer community, and a talk from Cartwright detailing the success of her Monte Carlo Poker Night held in September. The main event of the day will be the Happy House Poker Fundraiser – entry is $50, and the top prize is a seat in the 2009 Monte Carlo Night Devonshire PALS Poker event.

The event – which will take place at Cartwright’s home in LA – runs from 2pm to 8pm (poker starts at 3pm), and families are welcome.

Bart Simpson's Charity Poker Tournament

Nancy Cartwright – also known as the voice of Bart Simpson – is to host the 3rd annual Monte Carlo Poker Night to raise money for at-risk children.

The tournament – which takes place this Saturday, September 20, at Cartwright’s home in Los Angeles – will feature appearances by Brad Garrett, John Travolta, Camryn Manheim, Sinbad, Tom Kenny, Mickey Dolenz, and Kirstie Alley. All profits from the event will go to Devonshire PALS, an organization committed to a partnership between youth, the Devonshire LAPD, and the community. Poker tournaments held over the last two years have helped to raise the funds needed to build a new Youth Center for at-risk kids.

Jamie Gold, 2006 WSOP Main Event Champion, has signed on to Chair the Poker Committee, and poker pros expected to attend include Mary Jones, Jennifer Harman, Men “The Master” Nguyen, Marco Traniello, Todd Brunson, Sammy Farha, Kenna James, Kristi Gazes and many more.
