Big Stars To Attend Celebrity Charity Event For Dizzy Feet Foundation

The San Marino Gallery will host an opening night gala for the premiere of LA Art Experience, a three-day exhibition of the gallery’s contemporary works at the historic Majestic Halls in Downtown Los Angeles (650 South Spring Street) on Friday, October 14th.

The three-day exhibiton of art music and dance will be hosted by Adam Shankman, Nigel Lythgoe, Carrie Ann Inaba and Katie Holmes, and feature guests Ice-T, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Ty Perkins and many others.

The event will feature live music, dance performances, an open bar and over 100 masterpieces by San Marino Gallery’s leading artists from around the world. Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Dizzy Feet Foundation. Founded in 2009, the non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting dance education in the United States with an illustrious board that includes Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Katie Holmes.

Nigel Lythgoe To Be Honored At Star-Studded Charity Gala

The 6th Annual MDA Tradition of Hope Gala, to be held Oct. 15, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be a star-studded event bringing more than 500 business and civic leaders together to fight ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Expected to raise more than $500,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Augie’s Quest, the funds will help speed research seeking treatments and cures for the devastating disease.

MDA’s Augie’s Quest is named for philanthropist and fitness industry pioneer Augie Nieto. Nieto and his wife, Lynne, co-chair the MDA ALS Division. MDA’s Augie’s Quest has raised more than $30 million to fight ALS.

On Saturday, October 23, host Barbara Davis welcomed guests to the Beverly Hilton for the 32nd Anniversary Carousel of Hope Ball.

The celebrity charity event, founded by Barbara and the late Marvin Davis in 1977, brought together Hollywood’s elite as they raised nearly $2.5 million to benefit the clinical care and research at the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes (BDC) where more than 5,000 children and young adults receive specialized care.

Jennifer Lopez To Perform At Carousel Of Hope Charity Gala

The annual Carousel of Hope Gala will take place this month to raise money for the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.

Presented by Jay Leno, the gala will take place at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, October 23, and will honor Maria Shriver and Quincy Jones for their charity work.

This year celebrates 31 years of helping children with diabetes through the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. Held every two years, this is the 19th Carousel of Hope. From its inception in 1978, the Ball has raised over $70 million.

The Dizzy Feet Foundation will hold its first ever fundraising event on Sunday, November 29. The inaugural Celebration of Dance will be presented by Nigel Lythgoe, Katie Holmes, Carrie Ann Inaba and Adam Shankman, and will feature Christina Applegate, Channing Tatum and many others.

The charity was recently established by Holmes, Nigel Lythgoe, Carrie Ann Inaba and director/choreographer Adam Shankman, and aims to support, improve and increase access to dance education. “We see so many rough diamonds that you would love to be able to take under your wing and polish and say, ‘Wow, they look like they can become fabulous dancers,’ " Lythgoe told CNN. “But we can’t take people that just show promise. So in order to try and do something with that, we thought of the idea.”

Reality TV boss Nigel Lythgoe has appealed to Hollywood’s rich and famous to help him tackle child poverty in Los Angeles.

The former executive producer of American Idol and current judge on So You Think You Can Dance has placed a full-page advertisement in Daily Variety asking Hollywood to help the needy.

In the advert, the 49-year-old revealed he will direct a special talent show for children in the city on 14 December.
