On Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the ‘Lesher Center for the Arts’ in Walnut Creek, California, the Animal Rescue Foundation’s 18th anniversary ‘Stars to the Rescue’ gala will be held.

This fabulous evening of music and entertainment will include performances from Air Supply, Tony Orlando and actor Billy Bob Thornton with his band of Boxmasters.

There will also be a performance from ‘Moving Arts Dance, ’ which blends humor, grace, compassion and sorrow with visual effects and athletic physicality. Accompanying Moving Arts Dance will be Marc Russo – a long-standing member of the Doobie Brothers and ARF’s Stars to the Rescue musical director

Air Supply Is Lost In Love For Jamaica

Air Supply – the duo who ruled the charts of the late 70s and early 80s with hits such as All Out Of Love, Lost In Love, and Making Love Out Of Nothing At All – are back, and are due to play a charity gig in Jamaica next month.

Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock will bring their greatest hits to the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston on December 14 to raise money for Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief organizations in the United States. Proceeds will go towards the $30 million needed for the construction of 15 basic schools across Jamaica.

“Being one of the leading entertainment promotions company in Jamaica, and the fact that we have been greatly supported by the Jamaican public at our many shows, we thought it fit to give something back to our less fortunate brothers and sisters,” said Marvin Pitterson of Golden Promotions Limited. “We have decided to collaborate with Food For The Poor on this signature Command Performance Children for Charity event from which the proceeds will go towards realizing their $30 million goal for the school construction program.”

Earlier this year, Air Supply was named as the Number 83 best musical act of all time in the Billboard Hot 100’s 50 year anniversary edition.
