  <title>LA Kings Join Celebrities For Charity Hockey Game</title>
  <description>On January 2, the Los Angeles Kings held a charity game, &amp;#8220;Face-Off for Hope,&amp;#8221; to benefit City of Hope. It took place at the Staples Center immediately after the Kings-Washington Capitals game.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A portion of proceeds from ticket sales and service fees was donated to City of Hope, a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lakers forward Ron Artest was named an honorary coach. Professional hockey players Luc Robitaille, Jeremy Roenick, Russ Courtnall, Craig Johnson, Jamie Storr, Daryl Evans, Ian Turnbull, Brad Norton, Jamie Kompon, J.F. Jomphe, and John Blue participated in the game, as well as commentators Marty McSorley and Jim Fox. Actors David Boreanaz, Shaun Sipos, Michael Vartan and Cuba Gooding Jr. played, as did director Jason Reitman and E! Entertainment&amp;#8217;s Ken Baker.

  <description>Hockey great Jeremy Roenick has just launched his new website Roenicklife.com in efforts to keep in touch with his fans and raise money for charity. Fans can read Jeremy&amp;#8217;s blog, watch video&amp;#8217;s and even snatch his personal Sharks/Dallas Stars game tickets right out of his hand via a special raffle on his site to benefit the Aubri Brown Foundation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Prior to launching the site, Roenick reached out to the media via a touching letter where he explained his love for the fans and the game. &amp;#8220;I have spent the past twenty-one years sharing my passion and myself with the game of hockey,&amp;#8221; he wrote. &amp;#8220;I have had the opportunity to touch the hearts of millions of fans and have been excited everyday to help create a smile on so many children&amp;#8217;s faces&amp;#8230; I need to be involved for myself&amp;#8230; to keep touching the hearts of all the people that have supported me for half my life is a huge priority&amp;#8230; I decided to take the website a step further, and incorporate my love of the game, my voice, and my passion to use the website as a place where constant communication between all supporters can be used to help benefit charity.&amp;#8221;&lt;/p&gt;
