Dolly Parton To Sing At Marty Stuart's Late Night Celebrity Charity Jam

On June 8, country music legend Marty Stuart's Late Night Jam, the kick-off event for the CMA Music Festival, will celebrate its 10 year anniversary. Marty started the event as way to welcome fans to country music’s biggest festival, but the jam has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for MusiCares, which provides assistance for music people in times of need.

This year’s event will feature performances by Doug Kershaw, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Dolly Parton, the Quebe Sisters Band, Connie Smith and Mel Tillis. Past performers have included Dierks Bentley, Neko Case, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Jerry Lee Lewis, Old Crow Medicine Show, Keith Urban and Porter Wagoner, among others.

“It’s hard to believe that the Late Night Jam is ten years old,” said Stuart. “I can’t help but think back on the first one. I was nervous; pacing and hoping that we’d have enough people show up. The show ended up being a sell-out and we’ve been going strong ever since. That first show was over 25,000 people ago, and it was also many good deeds ago from MusiCares, and a lot of really magical performances ago from some of my dearest musical friends. Every year I say, ‘How can I top that show?’ Somehow it happens and good things result from it. This year will be no different.”

Neil Young Gathers Rock Legends For Benefit Concert

Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit saw the likes of Pearl Jam, Billy Idol and Elvis Costello come out to perform over the weekend.

The Bridge School Benefit is an annual non-profit charity concert held in Mountain View, California every October at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The concerts are all organized by musician Neil Young and his wife, Pegi, and benefit The Bridge School, an innovative organization educating children with severe speech and physical impairments.

Saturday’s lineup included Buffalo Springfield, Pearl Jam, Elvis Costello, Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams, Steve Stevens, Billy Idol, Jackson Browne and David Lindley, Modest Mouse, Emmylou Harris and Grizzly Bear.

Walk With Oprah And Friends For 10 Charities

O, The Oprah Magazine will celebrate its 10th anniversary in New York City from May 7-9, and registration for the Live Your Best Life Walk on Sunday, May 9 is now open.

Oprah Winfrey and special guests will lead a walk to raise money for 10 charities, selected by the editors of O, The Oprah Magazine. The top 10 fundraisers will walk alongside Oprah, and a celebration at the finish line for all participants will close the weekend’s festivities.

The walk takes place on the final day of the weekend-long celebration, and is open to all who want to take part and give back. A limited number of tickets are still available for the Live Your Best Life Weekend event at oprah.com/oturns10, but even non-ticket holders can participate as well.
