Tuesday night saw Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Suzanne Roberts among the honorees at the Women’s Image Network’s WIN Awards, along with thirteen other outstanding film and television nominees.

The nominee list included films and shows such as Temple Grandin, Glee, Made In Dagenham, Capturing Mary, Secretariat, You Don’t Know Jack, and actresses Diane Lane, Sally Hawkins, Hope Davis, Jennifer Aniston, Dame Maggie Smith, Jane Lynch, Susan Sarandon, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sasha Alexander and Selena Gomez.

The annual award ceremony, which took place this year in Santa Monica, strives to foster positive public opinion on the value of women who are committed to promoting gender equality, creativity and leadership. Men are also included in the nomination category.

Celebrities Help To Feed The Homeless For Thanksgiving

A host of stars and famous faces turned out in Los Angeles on Wednesday to give the homeless a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.

California unemployment hit 12.5 percent in October, the US Department of Agriculture says more people are “food insecure” than ever before and more homeless than ever are eating meals at the Los Angeles Mission.

The second annual Celebrity Soccer Challenge at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles was a big success as Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra were joined by a slew of celebrity friends who helped raise nearly $200,000 for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Mia Hamm Foundation.

Celebrities To Play In Charity Soccer Match

Former US soccer player/World Cup champion Mia Hamm and husband Nomar Garciaparra are once again set to host their annual charity soccer match benefiting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Mia Hamm Foundation.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 17, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Proceeds from the event benefit bone marrow transplant patients and their families.

Les Girls To Hit Stage For Breast Cancer

Fans of cabaret and burlesque-type performances should check out Les Girls 8 in Hollywood tonight.

The show is an irreverent and wickedly funny cabaret—a great evening of entertainment made possible by the donated performances of some of Hollywood’s top personalities. Now in its eighth year, Les Girls continues to raise funds to benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, which works to increase funding for breast cancer research and make sure that low income and uninsured women have access to treatment. The Hollywood Knights celebrity basketball team has arrived in Norway to raise money for children with cancer.

Pop star Aaron Carter will head a spectacular lineup of stars on the court at Haukelandshallen Arena in Bergen for the 2nd annual Hollywood Knights Celebrity Charity Basketball Game. Joining him against a dream team of Norwegian celebrities for an unforgettable game to raise money for charity will be Desperate Housewives’ Andrea Bowen, Joy Lauren and Josh Henderson, as well as Stephen Colletti (Laguna Beach, One Tree Hill_), Paula Trickey (_Pacific Blue, The O.C.), model Marcus Schenckenberg, Wesley Jonathan (What I Like About You_), Adrian R’Mante (_The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Kyle Lowder (Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful_), Blake Lewis (American Idol_), Chris Richardson (American Idol_), Adam Sevani (Step Up 2: The Streets_), Jon Chu (Step Up 2: The Streets) and Denyce Lawton (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne).
