Country Stars To Take Part In Celebrity Charity Softball Challenge

Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley and David Nail will join a star-studded roster of country music’s hottest performers, sports personalities and more to help strike out cancer and other life-threatening diseases at City of Hope’s 21st annual Celebrity Softball Challenge, on Saturday, June 11, at 9 a.m. at Greer Stadium in Nashville, Tenn.

For the first time in the game’s history, two City of Hope supporters will hang out in the dugout, and get into the game, with Nashville’s stars through the “Connected to Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge” contest. Visit www.cityofhope.org/connected to learn more and enter.

Charice To Perform At Charity Block Party

Charice has been confirmed for this weekend’s Grammy Block Party to raise money for MusiCares’ Nashville Flood Relief.

The party – which also features Raphael Saadiq, Chuck Wicks, Aka Cassidy and La Santa Cecilia – takes place at the Recording Academy, 3030 Olympic Blvd, Santa Monica on Saturday, July 31. Tickets are $30-50, with children under 12 free.

Country Music Stars Step Up To Bat For Charity

Country music’s most talented artists stepped up to home plate at City of Hope’s 20th annual Celebrity Charity Softball Challenge on June 7 at Greer Stadium in Nashville.

Rival teams Grand Ole Opry and “After MidNite with Blair Garner” fielded teams which include CMA Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist and Grammy Award winner Vince Gill, ACM Top New Artist and Top New Solo Artist Luke Bryan and two-time reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year and Grand Ole Opry member Carrie Underwood.

In its 20-year history, the Celebrity Softball Challenge in Nashville has raised over $2 million for City of Hope, a leading research, education and treatment center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Chuck Wicks Goes Home For Charity

Country star Chuck Wicks returned to his hometown in Deleware last week to play a concert that raised $25,000 for charity.

The star performed the benefit concert to support the Smyrna-Clayton Boys & Girls Club and has vowed to make the concert a yearly event.

“I’m going back to the community that raised me,” he said. “As long as people want to come out I’ll keep coming back.”
