Jason Mraz will headline a special celebrity charity concert event for Free The Slaves next month.

Free The Slaves works with a wide variety of people, be it Restavek children in Haiti, war children in Uganda, women and children forced into prostitution in Nepal or entire villages in debt bondage in India. Free The Slaves rescues, rehabilitates and educates victims, and also does substantial advocacy on their behalf.

The organization will hold its Freedom Awards on November 7th, awarding those who actively work to eradicate human trafficking and slavery. Previous awards have been attended by Desmond Tutu, Camilla Belle and Demi Moore.

Celebrities en route to the Academy Awards this year will make a pit-stop beforehand to take part in the 3rd Annual Pre-Oscar Hollywood Domino Gala Benefiting Artists for Peace and Justice.

The much anticipated dominos tournament of the Academy Awards, invites iconic personalities of Hollywood, such as Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron and Demi Moore, to play at ‘bar210’ in an effort to aid Haiti and its people. This black tie ‘island style’ evening will include specialty Disaronno cocktails and delectable hors d’oeuvres by Executive Chef Marcel Vigneron and music by DJ Jus Ske.

One hundred percent of the donations received at this event will be directed to Artists for Peace and Justice’s relief efforts in Haiti.

The Freedom Awards celebrate heroes of the anti-slavery movement from around the world. The awards are open to organizations and individuals working to eradicate human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Actress Camilla Belle and Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers have been showing off jewelry that has been designed to raise money for children in Malawi.

The pair have been seen around LA wearing necklaces and bracelets that are part of the What Love Means campaign being run by H.E.L.P. Malawi, which aims to positively impact lives of orphaned children and young adults living with famine, drought, extreme poverty, illiteracy, and diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. The mission is to give hope, education, love and protection to the children of Malawi – the seventh poorest country in the world – beginning with building a school and medical clinic.

The jewelry comes from designer Lori Leavitt’s Panthera Collection, inspired by a vintage lion cufflink from the 1860’s that has been designed into necklaces, bracelets, rings, cufflinks and key chains. The collection is created with a 14kt gold lion in each piece. The lion was chosen as a representative of the children of Malawi.
