The 6th annual Andy Roddick Foundation Charity Gala raised over one million dollars for children’s organizations last week at the ACL Live Moody Theater.

Andy was joined on the red carpet by his wife Brooklyn Decker, Terrell Owens, Fred Couples, James Blake, Bobby Bones, Mark Knowles and the Mayor of Austin, Lee Leffingwell.

The inspiring evening included a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction, an intimate performance by Elton John and after party hosted by SAP. Guests bid on one of a kind auction items including a spa day with Brooklyn Decker, golf with Andy and Fred Couples and unique trips to The Masters and Australian Open.

Tennis legend Billie Jean King and music superstar Sir Elton John are teaming up for their annual charity event — the 18th annual WTT Smash Hits presented by GEICO on November 15, 2010 at the Bender Arena at American University in Washington, D.C.

This star studded event will raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and local Washington, D.C. Area AIDS charities.

The Jorge Posada Foundation, a non-profit organization established by the New York Yankees’ All-Star Catcher Jorge Posada and his wife Laura, announces the launch of its Celebrity Basebowl Tournament Auction, in partnership with leading online charity auction site charitybuzz, to raise funds for children and families affected by Craniosynostosis, a dangerous congenital defect that affects the skull.

Dozens of auction items and experiences are on the auction block, including incredible donations from Kevin Connolly, Tim McGraw, Cher, George Lopez, James Blake, Chris Evert, and Judith Ripka. Bidding is open from October 27th through November 17th here.

Jorge and Laura’s son Jorge Luis was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis when he was just ten days old. He underwent eight major surgeries to successfully correct the condition. Today, Jorge Luis is about to celebrate his 11th birthday and his future is bright. Jorge and Laura founded The Jorge Posada Foundation to provide financial assistance to the many families affected by Craniosynostosis who are not able to afford the critical surgeries alone, as well as provide them with emotional support through a family support network.

Andy Roddick To Play James Blake For Charity

Tennis player James Blake has announced that he will host a tennis exhibition match with Grand Slam champion Andy Roddick to raise for cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in December.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Thomas Blake Sr. Memorial Research Fund, a charity named in memory of James Blake’s father, who died of cancer in 2004. Blake has raised more than $1.5 million for charity, and earlier this year was awarded a major humanitarian award for his charity work.

The event will also include an after party with entertainment, food and fashion show.

James Blake Wins Humanitarian Award

Prior to the Sony Open in Florida earlier this month, the ATP handed out their annual awards and American James Blake was given the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year award for his charitable efforts.

Last summer, Blake created the Thomas Blake Sr. Memorial Research Fund at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in memory of his father. The Blake Research Fund invests money in leading-edge science in order to speed up the most promising work and shorten the time it takes to turn laboratory discoveries into better treatments for patients. 100% of every dollar donated to the Fund goes directly to cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

This also marks the 5th year of Blake’s J-Block program where fans purchase J-Block merchandise and 100% of the gross proceeds are donated to charity. To date, more than $100,000 has been raised through J-Block merchandise sales.

Andre Agassi To Serve At Charity Match

Tennis great Andre Agassi has been confirmed to play at a charity match at the Sherwood Country Club in California in September.

The Bryan Brothers’ All-Star Tennis Smash will take place on September 27, and will benefit local and national charities. It is the first event to benefit The Bryan Brothers Foundation, an organization set up by the top-ranked doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan, both of whom play for the US Davis Cup team and will compete at the Beijing Olympics next month.

“We were thrilled when Andre committed to play at our event,” said Bob Bryan. “On the court, he’s of course long been a hero of ours. Off the court, he’s been a mentor to us as we’ve watched him build the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.”
