Celebrities Read Christmas Stories For Charity

Celebrity members of the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre presented “Christmas Stories XVIII” on December 3rd and 4th to benefit charity.

Members including Anne Archer, Jennifer Aspen, Eric Balfour, Erika Christensen, Jason Dohring, Jenna Elfman, Juliette Lewis, Marisol Nichols and Ethan Suplee performed skits and told Christmas stories to benefit the Hollywood Police Activities League’s annual Christmas party for underprivileged children, as well as their year-round inner city programs for at-risk youth.

Daryl Hannah will be on hand to help you open your eyes and your heart at The Sirens Society’s 2nd annual benefit film festival, “FILManthropy Festival II – Open Your Eyes,” at Cinespace Restaurant and Lounge, 6356 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, October 2nd – 3rd, 2010.

The Festival’s tagline, Open Your Eyes, encourages patrons to not only watch these inspiring films, but to do something – to work for change. Each filmmaker attaches a charity to his/her film and 100% of the Festival’s net proceeds are distributed between the winning filmmakers’ charities.

Jenna Elfman Performs Christmas Stories For Charity

Anne Archer, Erika Christensen, Jason Dohring, Jenna Elfman, MC Lyte, Priscilla Presley, Beth Riesgraf and Edgar Winter and film composer Mark Isham performed in the annual Christmas Stories performance over the weekend to an audience of over 500 in Hollywood.

Created in the theme of a 1930s holiday variety radio show, guests were treated to traditional and original renditions of music, dance, skits and stories. Since 1993 the Christmas Stories performances have raised more than $245,000 for community youth programs.   

Anne Archer Presents Money To Charities

Academy Award nominated actress Anne Archer, presented cheques amounting to £50,000 to several different British charities on behalf of the L. Ron Hubbard Foundation and the Church of Scientology at the annual Gala Charity Concert on Sunday, October 18th at Saint Hill, East Grinstead, UK.

  Archer was the Master of Ceremonies, introducing each performer and also presenting the cheques on stage to the representatives of each charity, namely: the Sussex Air Ambulance; the Bluebell Steam Railway; East Grinstead charities the Town Museum, Furnihelp, and the East Grinstead Access Group for the elderly and disabled; Impact; and Crowborough charities the Town Mayor’s Charity Fund and the Community Hospital.

Bob Mainstone, representing the East Grinstead charities, said, “This donation will make a big difference to these charities in accomplishing their respective aims and is warmly appreciated.”
