DoSomething.org, one of the largest U.S. organizations that helps teens take action on causes they care about, released today its fourth annual ‘Top 20 Celebs Gone Good’ list.

Lady Gaga continues her reign as the star who uses her celebrity to do the most good. Known for her support of gay rights, AIDS, and poverty, she focused primarily this year on bullying, even taking her thoughts to the White House in December. She also announced the creation of her own charity, the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to empower youth and lead them to a brave new society where each individual is accepted and loved as the person they were born to be.

Making a meteoric rise to number two this year is Justin Bieber, up from number 10 last year. His fast rise is due to his prolific work with Pencils of Promise, an organization that builds schools in Laos and Guatemala. Justin is also a consistent supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, raised funds for charity with his fragrance and holiday album, and recently distributed $100,000 to Whitney Elementary School in Las Vegas.

Kim Kardashian has blogged about a very special charity event taking place in March 2012.

“This year I was diagnosed with psoriasis, a hereditary, genetic, autoimmune disease that effects over 125 million people around the world and currently has no cure,” she wrote on her official blog. "On March 4 2012 it will be the sixth annual Walk To Cure Psoriasis and I hope you guys will join me in helping raise funds and awareness for the event. Over the last five years they have raised almost 1.5 million dollars to help research for a cure and there are now 22 walks across the country! They also started the first ever DNA BioBank, which is used by researchers across the country and the money from the walk goes directly to this.

Z100, New York’s Hit Music Station, has unveiled the star-studded line-up and special guest presenters for the annual holiday concert Z100’s Jingle Ball 2011, presented by Aeropostale, which will take place on Friday, December 9, 7:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden.

Mayor Bloomberg has issued a special proclamation officially declaring December 9, 2011 Z100’s Jingle Ball Day in New York City.

Five celebrities join the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, a group of celebrity supporters who promote Red Cross services by donating their time, helping neighbors prepare for emergencies, responding to disasters and lending a helping hand to those in need – down the street, across the country and around the world.

Love Our Children USA has announced that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford are proclaiming October 4th BLUE SHIRT DAY – DAY OF BULLYING PREVENTION to signify the importance of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week, October 3rd – 9th with bullying prevention activities taking place throughout the month.

National Blue Shirt Day – World Day of Bullying Prevention is observed on the first Monday of every October and is an initiative of STOMP Out Bullying, a signature program of Love Our Children USA.

This year kids, teens and adults are being asked to make October 4th the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world by wearing a Blue Shirt in solidarity to STOMP Out Bullying. Several schools are participating in the day and this will be the second year for Scripps Ranch High School. Kids can get involved by creating World Day of Bullying Prevention – Blue Shirt Day and STOMP Out Bullying events. There are many ways to get involved.

Eva Longoria has taken to Twitter to encourage her celebrity friends to support charity.

The Desperate Housewives superstar has enlisted the help of the stars to launch TwitChange, a massive online auction that will hit the Net on September 15. The idea is simple: TwitChange is the only global celebrity auction where Twitter users can bid to get three things: be followed by their favorite celebrity on Twitter, retweeted, or mentioned by them in a special tweet!

All proceeds from the TwitChange celebrity auction will provide AHomeInHaiti.org the means to ﬁnish rebuilding the Miriam Center. The Miriam Center houses, educates and loves on Haitian children with cerebral palsy, severe autism, and other major life challenges and is one of the only facilities of its kind in Haiti. The current facility houses children in the earthquakeʼs aftermath and is extremely overcrowded. These kids need and deserve a permanent home.

Promoting youth empowerment, Demi Lovato has teamed up with DoSomething.org and Clean & Clear to implement a nationwide movement encouraging teens to take action in their communities.

DoSomething.org, continuing with their “using the power of online to get teens to do good stuff offline” motto, has technology on their side by giving teens the convenience of joining the campaign simply by texting the word SURGE to 30644. DoSomething.org has a goal of 1.2 million teens involved, hoping to inspire others to give back.

“RIP Phoebe Prince, a young teen who was bullied to death. People don’t realize how serious bullying is these days,” she wrote. “Verbal abuse IS (if not more) as serious as physical harassment. PLEASE make a difference in your school.”

Phoebe Prince was a teenager from Massachusetts who committed suicide in January following constant bullying at school.

The American Red Cross has announced eight new members to its National Celebrity Cabinet, a group of celebrity supporters who promote Red Cross services by donating their time, helping neighbors prepare for emergencies, responding to disasters and lending a helping hand to those in need – down the street, across the country and around the world.

New members include actor Penn Badgley, who is best known as Dan Humphrey on the television series Gossip Girl, Giselle Blondet, a Puerto Rican who has long established herself as one of Spanish-language television’s most distinguished and popular on-air personalities, actor Josh Duhamel, who appeared in the hit movie Transformers, country music superstar Wynonna Judd, actor and hip hop music icon, LL Cool J, award winning actress and country music superstar Reba McEntire, actress and humanitarian Alyssa Milano, and actor, comedian and television personality David Spade. Rapper Ludacris is the latest star to encourage people to take part in the 2010 US census.

“I look at our communities now and I see many empty lots, closed clinics, dilapidated schools and an overall breakdown of social services for the poor and elderly,” he said. “Today is a day for change. I plan to knock on doors in various neighborhoods around this country to try and dispel any myths about the census. It’s important that we all stand up and be counted so we can help create potential financial opportunities for our dying communities.”

The musician will visit Dallas, New Orleans, New York, Washington DC and Atlanta as part of his campiagn next month.

Teen star Demi Lovato used Twitter to appeal to fans to urge their parents to take part in the 2010 US census this week, joining Eva Longoria in encouraging participation.

“A lot of you may not understand why I believe it’s important that the youth of today is informed about the 2010 census,” Lovato wrote. "The census isn’t something only adults should pay attention to. The significance of the information that’s counted and used to fund more schools, hospitals, the environment and many other important things for our community. The things we fill out on this census today will effect us for the next 10 YEARS… that’s a long time people!!!

“Even if YOU aren’t the one filling out the census, you could be the person in your household that makes your parents, and many other people aware of how serious this is and could possibly make a huge difference for your community. Joe Jonas And Demi Lovato Make A Wave For Charity

Disney stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have recorded a single called “Make a Wave” that is now being played on Radio Disney, in an effort to raise awareness for Disney’s “Friends for Change: Project Green.”

“Friends for Change” is a campaign to encourage youth to be more environmentally conscious.

The “Make a Wave” music video will air on the Disney Channel March 14, and the song will be available on iTunes the following day. 100% of the proceeds will support several environmental charities through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF).

Miley Cyrus Launches Charity Auction For Haiti

Miley Cyrus will launch her very own online auction for Haiti on eBay on February 8.

To kick off the auction, the singer has donated the dress she wore to this year’s Grammy Awards, as well as tickets to the Hollywood premiere of her new film, The Last Song. She is also joined by some of her famous friends, including Britney Spears, who has donated the dress she wore to last year’s MTV VMAs, and Nicole Richie, who has donated jewelry. Demi Lovato, Hugh Jackman and Joel Madden have also donated items.

“Ever since the earthquake, I’ve been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more,” she told PEOPLE. “Everyone has been so generous. My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction.”

Stars Design Charity T-Shirts For Starlight Children's Foundation

Forever 21, Inc. has launched a charitable line of T-shirts personally designed by notable celebrities with 100% of the proceeds to benefit Starlight Children’s Foundation – helping seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.

The celebrity designers – Starlight Spokesperson Corbin Bleu, Paris, Nicky and Kathy Hilton, Colbie Caillat, Demi Lovato, and Audrina Patridge – were given art materials, which included paints, markers, and sketch pads, to create a unique painting on canvas using the themes of “star” and “light.” Forever 21 designers incorporated each celebrity’s design onto a cotton T-shirt or tank top.

“I am excited to be designing a t-shirt on behalf of Starlight and Forever 21,” said Corbin. “As a Starlight ambassador I have been inspired by the children and families I have had the privilege of meeting along the way, and by the strength they’ve shown in the hardest of times. I encourage everyone to get involved with Starlight and help lift the spirits of these brave children.”
