Earthquake victims in New Zealand are receiving more celebrity support as charities continue to campaign for help.

As the official death toll reaches 150, Lionel Richie has announced he will release a new version of his hit 1983 single “All Night Long” with Australian singer Guy Sebastian to raise money for earthquake victims, as well as those affected by January’s devastating floods in Queensland, Australia.

“As an artist with 40 something years in the business, how do you do something meaningful?” he asked The Daily Telegraph. "What’s happened this year with the floods and now with the earthquakes, it’s horrific.

This annual star-studded gala presented in honor of featured guest, Muhammad Ali, will be held on Saturday, March 19th at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Ariz.

Jackie Chan has blogged about the charity concert he took part in to raise funds for victims of China’s earthquake last month, which left over 1,484 dead, 1297 seriously injured, 11,849 injured and 332 missing.

“When I heard that Hong Kong would be hosting a fund raiser for the earthquake, I quickly changed my plans and made a stop in Hong Kong before all of the Shanghai Expo events,” wrote the star about the April 26 concert. "I told my good friends Chris Tucker, Lionel Richie, Kenny G, Brett Ratner, Will & Jaden Smith, etc about the earthquake and drought. They wanted to record a short clip for the Hong Kong charity show to let everyone know that there is support from America. I had all the tapes that had footage of my trip to Yushu and Yunan expressed delivered to Beijing. Charity has no boundary!

“By the end of the show, all of us got on stage… but I realized that everyone was swaying in all different directions! To avoid drowsiness to the audience at the coliseum and the audience at home, I stood on the chair in the first row and directed the finale. I just wanted to make sure that the show was entertaining and successful! During the show, I received news that there was another earthquake in Taiwan and a sandstorm in a few cities in China. What is going on in the world?!

Stars Record Spanish Language Version of ‘We Are the World’

Last month in Miami, Florida, an all-star cast of the greatest Latin recording artists converged to record “Somos El Mundo” –or- "We Are The World’ – to raise funds and awareness for the continuing crisis in Haiti.

Led by Emilio Estefan and producer Quincy Jones, the Spanish language version of “We Are The World” includes a partnership with Univision Communications Inc and the non-profit We Are The World Foundation.

Drew Barrymore Reunites With The Children Of The World For Charity

Twenty-five years ago, a group of children made history by getting together to record their own version of We Are The World. On Friday, the original kids – including Drew Barrymore, Fergie and Alyssa Milano – will reunite for a special DVD/Blu-Ray release of the Children Of The World Project.

The original singers will come together at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel in Santa Monica for the taping to raise money once again for charity. Where the original proceeds went to Africa famine relief, the new recording will benefit kids in Haiti.

Nominated for a Grammy Award in 1985, the Children Of The World Project was the brainchild of Sonny Melendrez, and caught the attention of Michael Jackson, who penned the original song with Lionel Richie.

Twenty-five years ago, the iconic recording, “We Are The World” generated millions of dollars to help ease suffering in Africa. With a contemporary version of the song being released today to aid the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Coca-Cola will be doing its part to support the cause.

Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie have revamped the song “We Are the World,” originally recorded 25 years ago. More than 75 big-name stars got together on February 2nd at Jim Henson Studios – where the song was originally recorded – to do it again. The song will benefit aid relief in Haiti.

The long list of celebrities includes Bono, Jason Mraz, Akon, Wyclef Jean, Usher, Pink, Céline Dion, Natalie Cole, the Jonas Brothers, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Lil Wayne and many, many more.

Miley Cyrus is auctioning off her glamorous teal Herve Legere dress that she wore at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Miley wants to do everything she can to help raise money to support Haiti relief, and she said. “I’m going to auction it off on eBay afterward for the Red Cross. It’s the little things you can do.”

The elegant dress was worn by the 17-year-old teen mega star at the most prominent award show for music, which hosted a gallery of spectacular performances by Pink, Lady Ga Ga, Beyonce and a moving tribute to Michael Jackson.

Legendary singer Lionel Richie was honored with an Award of Excellence by the United Negro College Fund on Saturday night.

Celebrities such as Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Akon, Katharine McPhee and comedian Cedric the Entertainer attended the 31st annual An Evening of Stars event, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

“[Richie] is a national treasure and we’re proud to claim him, not only as a graduate of our storied member school, Tuskegee University, but as an artist of international renown and longtime supporter of UNCF and the work we do to make sure that every child in America gets an education that starts in preschool and doesn’t end until college graduation,” said UNCF’s CEO Michael L. Michael Jackson's Charity Legacy

Michael Jackson, who passed away last week, featured significantly on the pages of Look To The Stars. He was a passionate supporter of charity, and was honored by many different organizations for the work that he did and the compassion that he showed.

As well as writing We Are The World with Lionel Richie and helping to organize the United We Stand: What More Can I Give benefit concert in the wake of September 11, Jackson also donated the proceeds from a song to victims of Hurricane Katrina, often donated items to charity auctions, and was to donate some of the proceeds from his upcoming shows in London to charity. He set up a burns unit for children and also established the Heal The World Foundation, whose work has included airlifting 6 tons of supplies to Sarajevo, instituting drug and alcohol abuse education and donating millions of dollars to less fortunate children.

But this is only the tip of the iceberg. A comprehensive timeline of the late singer’s charitable work has been published by Jackson Action. Pop superstar Justin Timberlake’s charity concert in Las Vegas on Friday night was a huge success.

The singer joined a plethora of stars on stage for a night to remember, including duets with Lionel Richie, 50 Cent, and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. The Jonas Brothers, Leona Lewis, and Rihanna also hit the stage at the Planet Hollywood Resort to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children, a network of facilities in North America that provides superior medical care at no charge to children under the age of 18.

The star also caused a stir when he announced the concert would be the last time he performs his hit SexyBack live.

Andre Agassi Grand Slam For Kids This Weekend

Rod Stewart, Sheryl Crow, The Killers and David Spade will headline the 13th annual Andre Agassi Grand Slam for Children benefit concert in Las Vegas this weekend.

“I’m thrilled to have so many amazing performers donate their talents to help us help children,” said Agassi. “We look forward to celebrating with our partners what we’ve accomplished in Las Vegas with the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy and our future efforts to transform public education for underserved children nationwide.”

The concert will raise funds for the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, which provides recreational and educational opportunities for at-risk boys and girls. The concert will be preceded by an invitation-only concert tonight – October 10 – featuring James Taylor and Five For Fighting’s John Ondrasik.

Seal Joins David Foster's Charity Show

Seal and Paul Anka will headline David Foster’s star-studded charity gala on Saturday in Edmonton, Canada.

The concert aims to raise at least $4 million for Canadian families with children in need of major organ transplants, with attendees paying between $15,000 and $50,000 for a table of 10 people.

Foster has a long history of charitable efforts to help children. In 1997 he was honored with the United States Children’s Choice Award for his work supporting research into children’s cancer, leukemia, and AIDS. In 1986, he established the David Foster Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional help to the families of children needing organ transplants. In 2006, Foster auctioned a piano signed by over 60 celebrities to raise money for his foundation.

Ozzy Headlines Prince Charles Charity Gig

An all-star music concert was held in London yesterday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust charity.

Leading the line-up was veteran rocker Ozzy Osbourne, and other music acts included the Bee Gees, Lionel Richie, Annie Lennox, Ronan Keating, Pink and Embrace. Illusionist David Blaine also appeared.

Thanks to the Prince’s position, the 2000-strong audience was able to enjoy the concert in a unique setting: the grounds of the Tower of London.
