In a coordinated day of action to urge Congress to close the Guantanamo Bay Prison, twenty Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans from across the country descended on Capitol Hill last week to push back against Republican scare tactics and urge Congress to support President Obama’s decision to close the prison.

A coalition of US and international musicians, including Trent Reznor, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Jackson Browne, Rise Against, Rosanne Cash, Billy Bragg and The Roots have announced they are joining the National Campaign to Close Guantanamo—a campaign led by retired Generals Robert Gard, John Johns, former member of Congress, Tom Andrews, and Vote Vets Chairman and Iraq War veteran, Jon Soltz.
