Young Fans Get Opportunity To Make Rock Documentaries

A new TV initiative is giving 16-22 year olds from across America a platform to find their voice through a unique intersection of music and film.

Now through August 17, young music fans all over the U.S. have the chance to apply for their shot to make a music documentary featuring bands like Public Enemy, Franz Ferdinand, Blink 182, Weezer and Taking Back Sunday & more bands (TBA) live from the Virgin Mobile FreeFest. The documentary crew will capture every pulse-pounding moment from backstage to the moshpit, from the tour bus to center stage. Their documentary will premiere on IFC giving viewers an exclusive insider’s tour behind the music.

After the nationwide search ends the selected youth documentarians will be on location at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest before and after the lights, crowds, and the reverb fade away. The crew will score exclusive access band interviews, capture the candid moments before, during, and after the bands hit the stage and be engulfed in the fan frenzy.
