Adam Lambert celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday, and once again asked his fans to donate to charity instead of sending him presents.

“Last year for my ‘golden birthday’, you gave me the best birthday present I could have asked for — you donated $323,803 to bring clean water to over 16,000 people!” he said. "It felt so amazing to have my fans, friends and family do something so inspiring for my birthday.

“I’ve been asked what I would like people to do this year for my 30th birthday. I’d like to invite you to join me and “give up” your birthday this year.

DoSomething.org and VH1 today announced the all-star lineup of presenters including Kristen Bell, Nick Cannon, Jon Cryer, Victoria Justice, Adam Lambert, Mario Lopez, Rose McGowan, Olivia Munn, Keke Palmer and Lauren Potter for this year’s 2011 Do Something Awards airing Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 9:00pm EST on VH1.

Hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, the ceremony will honor and celebrate the nation’s best young world-changers who represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause or issue. Adam Lambert’s charity:water birthday campaign has ended – after smashing his initial charity goal!

Adam’s simple birthday wish of raising $29,000 by his birthday on January 29 was smashed in just two days, prompting the singer to increase his goal to $290,000. As of yesterday, when the campaign ended, fans had donated $323,255 to charity:water.

“I am so excited to be a part of charity:water and able to give back to those in need,” said Adam.

Adam Lambert asked for a simple gift this year for his birthday, clean water for people in developing nations. And it looks like his brigade of “Glamberts” are stepping up – in a big way – to support their favorite glam-rocker.

After Lambert announced his affiliation with charity:water, he did so with an initial goal of raising $29,000 for the organization by asking fans to donate to the cause rather than send him birthday gifts.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announced today that recording artist Adam Lambert will perform at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards Presented in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

The GLAAD Media Awards elevate and promote fair, accurate and inclusive stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues, people and allies that have increased awareness, understanding and respect for the lives of LGBT people. American Idol star Adam Lambert popped in on a group of school kids to support DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need.

The 28-year-old musician dropped by to perform his hit “Whataya Want From Me” for the students and afterwards passed out music composition books for them to write their own music in.

Students also performed an original song for Lambert on instruments funded by DonorsChoose before he participated in an online video chat as a prize for his fans who supported the site’s challenge to raise money for classroom projects!

It has been a busy few weeks for Ricky Martin – last Monday he presented government officials in Puerto Rico a study on human trafficking, and now he is fronting a campaign to help victims of the Haitian earthquake.

The She Bangs singer returned to his native country of Puerto Rico last week to urge the government to act on the human trafficking problem. He presented officials with a study carried out by his Ricky Martin Foundation that pinpoints the country as having a major role in the illegal sex and kidnapping trade.

“This is happening on our island,” he said. “We cannot turn our back on the victims.”

Cycling legend Lance Armstrong is the latest star to donate to victims of the Haitian earthquake.

The star’s LiveStrong Foundation, has pledged $250,000 to relief charities to help in the rebuilding of the country.

“I think what’s on top of everybody’s mind is the earthquake in Haiti and the devastation we all have seen on television or the newspaper or the internet,” he said in a video message. "Some say more than a 100,000 lives lost.
