Adam Lambert Donates 30th Birthday To Charity

Adam Lambert celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday, and once again asked his fans to donate to charity instead of sending him presents.

“Last year for my ‘golden birthday’, you gave me the best birthday present I could have asked for — you donated $323,803 to bring clean water to over 16,000 people!” he said. "It felt so amazing to have my fans, friends and family do something so inspiring for my birthday.

“I’ve been asked what I would like people to do this year for my 30th birthday. I’d like to invite you to join me and “give up” your birthday this year.

True Blood Star Latest Celebrity To Join Charity Campaign

True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård is the latest star to record a PSA for the It Gets Better campaign.

“I believe it gets better when parents start to lead by example,” says the vampire star in the new video. "We have to teach our children that, not only through our words but also through our actions, that every single human being has equal value.

“And to bully someone or for society to discriminate against someone because they have a different sexual orientation, it’s unacceptable.

Adam Lambert Joins charity:water

Adam Lambert asked for a simple gift this year for his birthday, clean water for people in developing nations. And it looks like his brigade of “Glamberts” are stepping up – in a big way – to support their favorite glam-rocker.

After Lambert announced his affiliation with charity:water, he did so with an initial goal of raising $29,000 for the organization by asking fans to donate to the cause rather than send him birthday gifts.

“I am so excited to be a part of charity:water and able to give back to those in need. Join me in helping with donations for such a great cause,” commented Lambert, “My ‘golden birthday’ is on Jan 29th where I will be turning 29!!!! I would LOVE if you would help me donate to this cause as it would be the best birthday gift I could ask for.”

Justin Bieber Releases Charity Album And Makes Anti-Bullying Video

Pop sensation Justin Bieber will donate some of the proceeds from his new acoustic album to charity.

My World Acoustic came out today, and will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals – an organization founded by Donny and Marie Osmond and John Schneider in 1983, dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children¹s hospitals across North America. Each year the 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

“I am in the position to give back thanks to my fans and God. I wrote ‘Pray’ thinking I wanted to help others and I feel like I have a responsibility to do so,” said Bieber via Twitter. “What is the point of doing all this if you can’t make a difference in others’ lives? This album is a gift to my fans and the money raised from it allows us all to help out.”

Adam Lambert's Charity Wish For Fans

Adam Lambert has a special request for fans: charity donations, not gifts.

The star, who starts his Glam Nation Tour later this month, says he received so many thoughtful gifts on his last tour that he ran out of room to keep them. So he’s taken to Twitter to ask fans for a favor.

“Instead of giving me gifts, why not donate 2 donorschoose.org or other charity in my name? U can print a reciept [sic] 4 me and personalize it:) What are your thoughts?”
