Charlie Brooks Stands Against Domestic Violence

Actress Charlie Brooks, best known for her role as Janine in BBC’s Eastenders, is lending her support to The National Centre for Domestic Violence.

Although not a victim of domestic violence herself, Charlie feels strongly about the subject and is taking action to help men and women across the country by raising awareness for the centre’s work. Her support will help bring domestic violence out into the open where it can be dealt with, and victims can be properly supported.

“The National Centre for Domestic Violence approached me to be an ambassador for the charity, and after visiting the centre and meeting with the team, I was delighted to offer them my support,’ said Charlie. “I was overwhelmed by the speed at which they can obtain court injunctions and offer help to those who are in a desperate situation. As an ambassador for the charity I offer them my full support in helping the fight against domestic abuse”.

The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) provides a free, fast emergency service to survivors of domestic violence. The service allows anyone to apply for an emergency injunction within 24 hours of first contact in most circumstances.
