Beaulieu Vineyard, the great American winery at the heart of the Napa Valley with 111 years of history in fine winemaking, and the Official Wine Sponsor of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, has bottled up a very special way to benefit the Television Academy Foundation’s education programs.

BV created a custom-etched and painted, 27-liter bottle of the winery’s flagship Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The 27 liter is the largest bottle produced for the wine industry, holds the equivalent of 36 bottles of wine, stands 3.5 feet high and weighs over 110 pounds when full.

John-Boy Walton To Be Honored For Charity Work

Iconic actor Richard Thomas – best known for his role as John-Boy Walton in CBS drama The Waltons – will receive the Nancy Ford Springer Inspiration Award at the National Meningitis Association’s 3rd annual Give Kids a Shot Gala at the New York Athletic Club. Thomas is being honored for his efforts in the fight against meningitis, a vaccine preventable disease.

Also slated to be honored are New York Giants Football Legend Bart Oates & his wife Michelle Oates, advocates for pediatric medical research, will receive NMA’s, Children’s Advocacy Award; medical pioneer James C. Turner, M.D. Professor of Internal Medicine, University of Virginia will accept NMA’s Health Achievement Award and pianist Chau-GiangThi Nguyen (Chosan Nguyen) will receive NMA’s International Ambassador for Education Through Music Award.

The Honorary Committee includes Steve Buscemi, Amy Madigan & Ed Harris, Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy and Susan Sarandon.

For the past seven years, Esquire has created the “Ultimate Bachelor Pad” in either Los Angeles or New York where a hot property is outfitted by top designers and advertisers to create a dynamic living environment. The House is then used to hold star-studded charity events – this year’s opening event will benefit International Medical Corps, a nonprofit that relieves the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster and disease by delivering vital health care services that focus on training. Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher was one of several stars to compete for charity in the 2009 Nautica Malibu Triathlon during the weekend.

“I’m still standing , yeah yeah yeah,” blogged the star. "What a great experience I had doing my first official triathlon. Many many thanks to all those who donated! I couldn’t have had more generous support from friends, family and fans. I couldn’t have been with a nicer more supportive team than Team Disney. We raised funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in record numbers. I am proud and grateful and humbled by all the efforts put forth by the thousands of contestants and spectators.

Sharon Stone Helps Foster Kids Get Dental Care

Homeless Not Toothless, the non-profit organization founded by Brentwood dentist Dr. Jay Grossman, will honor actress Sharon Stone, writer/ producer Antwone Fisher and USC School of Dentistry’s Mobile Unit Founder Dr. Charles Goldstein for their continuous support, philanthropic work and inspiration on Thursday, September 10th, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica.

Hollywood’s favorite stars including Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy and James Denton, as well as authorities in the Dental and Medical community will come together for an evening of philanthropy, music and entertainment. With music provided by Trevor Hall and Shawn King, much-needed funds will be raised for the El Monte Free Dental Clinic, which will provide almost 30,000 Los Angeles foster children with the required dental work to enter and stay in the school system.

“We have the responsibility to take care of children,” Dr. Grossman explains. “These children who have been pulled out of their families and have no parents to rely on have it hard enough. The last thing they need is not to have access to dental care, and we can provide that for them.”

A host of celebrities have donated signed photos and memorabilia to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Elephant Project Auction. Stars such as Pink, Julie Andrews, Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Sarah Silverman, Shirley MacLaine, John Lithgow, Melinda Doolittle, William H. Macy, Jason Biggs, Jimmy Kimmel and many more have put their signatures on special photo cards for the auction, and all proceeds go to this great cause.

Created in 2006 by 18-year old David Niederhoffer after his grandfather passed away from Alzheimer’s disease, the Elephant Project aims to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, and to get teenagers more active in community service.
