Don't Text And Drive - Chat With JoJo Instead!

Throughout the month of January, singing sensation JoJo, Cambio and AT&T have joined together to tell fans when it comes to texting while driving, “It Can Wait.”

JoJo will live chat with fans on January 31 at 4:00 PST. The chat fulfills a challenge JoJo gave to her fans: If 50,000 people signed the AT&T “It Can Wait” pledge not to text and drive, JoJo promised to do an interactive Cambio live chat and answer fan questions from Twitter. The pledge count has exceeded that – with more than 72,000 pledges to date.

“It Can Wait” is AT&T’s growing movement to encourage teens and young drivers to pledge to stay safe behind the wheel by not texting while driving. AT&T will honor those taking the pledge by contributing to non-profit organizations focused on youth safety. JoJo joins celebrities like Rachel Zoe, Katie Cassidy, Jesse McCartney, Brandon Mychal Smith and Joey Lawrence who have also supported the “It Can Wait” movement. For more information on the “It Can Wait” campaign, please visit AT&T’s Facebook Page or the official “It Can Wait” website.

JoJo Says No To Texting While Driving

According to Car and Driver, texting while driving is more dangerous than driving under the influence, and those who send text messages while driving are 23 times more likely to be in a crash. Music sensation JoJo and Cambio, the online destination for teens and young adults, have teamed up with AT&T’s It Can Wait campaign to help combat this epidemic.

Throughout the month of January, Cambio will release three videos about the risks of texting and driving narrated by the twenty-one- year-old-platinum-selling songstress, JoJo, through Cambio Impact — Cambio’s new social causes platform. In these compelling vignettes, JoJo reminds her peers that text messages can and should wait until after driving. The first video is available to watch here.

Celebrities Remember 9/11 Ten Years On

Celebrities from around the world took time out this weekend to reflect on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, using Twitter and other media outlets to commemorate the event.

“There’s so many stories that people don’t know,” Lady Gaga told MTV during her special documentary Inside the Outside. “I watched the towers fall from the roof of my school, holding all my best friends. I don’t know … just, my affinity and my love and the relationship I have with New York City — it’s like the husband I never married.”

The terror attacks have been on the minds of people not only in the US but around the world this weekend as we remembered those who lost their lives and loved ones in the attacks, and the struggles of those left behind.

JoJo To Headline I Heart Haiti Kids Concert

Teen superstar JoJo will headline a benefit concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California on Saturday February 27 to benefit the children of Haiti. The concert will feature other teen performers such as multi-platinum teen sensation Romeo Miller and the College Boyys, Anne Marie Perez De Tagle, Cymphonique and the Fabulous Girls, Lil King, Lil Fresh Boyz, Jacob Latimore, Logan Charles, along with actors Ashley Argota, Ariel Winter and Kyla Pratt.

The concert will benefit the I Heart Haiti Kids in an effort to send books and help rebuild schools in Haiti. “As a student at the University of Southern California as well as an athlete, I realize how important it is for every child to have a proper education, it should not be a luxury but a necessity,” says Romeo. “As a survivor of Hurricane Katrina and I know the importance of rebuilding your life after a tragedy. I believe we have to do all we can to help the children of Haiti, it is the right thing to do,” adds Miller.

Six Flags Friends, the philanthropic arm of Six Flags Magic Mountain has joined with the group to help support their efforts. The I Heart Haiti Kids organization’s goal is to raise awareness, collect books and raise funds to rebuild schools for Haiti kids. Anyone bringing two new or gently used school or children’s books (appropriate for K-12 school-age children) to Six Flags Magic Mountain the weekends of Feb. 27-28, March 6-7 or March 13-14, will receive a discounted admission ticket of $24.99. The first 3,000 people bringing books on February 27 will be admitted to the free concert with their paid park admission.

Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel Promote Charity Climb

Justin Timberlake joined Jessica Biel, Isabel Lucas, Kenna, James Vander Beek, Zach Braff, JoJo and Devon Aoki at a special Summit on the Summit Kilimanjaro Pre-Ascent event held at Voyeur in West Hollywood on Wednesday, December 9.

The group was celebrating their upcoming charity climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in January to raise awareness of clean drinking water. The Summit On The Summit expedition will raise money and awareness for the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and PlayPumps International.

PUR Water Filtration Specialists is sponsoring this initiative and, for every PUR system purchase, one week of clean drinking water is provided to children in the developing world through the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program: which has, to date, provided over 1.8 billion liters of clean water worldwide. You can also sponsor a foot of the climb – $2.00 provides 200 liters of clean drinking water for those in need, and $10 will provide a clean water solution for a child for 1.5 years.
