Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Peter Facinelli, Kelly Osbourne and Eric Stonestreet are taking part in the Twitter For The Critters Celebrity Challenge to benefit the Onyx and Breezy Foundation, an animal charity formed in 2004 by Mark and Wanda Shefts to honor the memory of their two labrador retrievers.

Stars Donate Ties To Celebrity Charity Auction

Dressing up is a surefire way to feel good, but a number of notable men in the worlds of entertainment, sports and music are doffing their ties to help raise money as part of the Career Gear Celebrity Tie Auction.

Career Gear is a nonprofit organization that assists disadvantaged men in finding and retaining employment through workshops and wardrobe donations. Just in time for the holidays, the organization is auctioning off autographed ties donated by celebrities such as Zach Galifianakis, Jay Leno and Carmelo Anthony to raise funds to sustain its job retention services. In these troubled economic times these gentlemen and others are showing their character by helping men get back to the security and satisfaction of gainful employment.

Now in its third year, the Career Gear Celebrity Tie Auction has also generously received ties from Kevin Spacey, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Kevin Bacon, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Tim Gunn, Matt Dillon, Tyreke Evans, David Duchovny, Peter Facinelli, Kenneth Faried, Xavier Henry, David Tutera, Al Horford, Gordon Ramsay, Al Roker, George Kotsiopoulos, Russell Westbrook and Rainn Wilson.

Annual Charity Autumn Party Gets Massive Celebrity Support

Rochelle Gores Fredston, ARCADE Boutique and Philanthropic Society Los Angeles (PSLA) have announced they will host The 2nd Annual Autumn Party benefiting Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII) on October 26, 2011 at The London West Hollywood Rooftop.

The evening will begin with a fashion show by famed New York designer Yigal Azrouël, marking his first-ever Los Angeles show. Yigal Azrouël will present his Spring 2012 Collection. The collection combines masculinity and femininity through silhouettes that are simplistic yet architectural. Using lambskin, wool, gabardine and silk chiffon in variations of nude punctured with periodic pops of citrine, mars, and cognac, it evokes a fresh, modern ease. Twilight star Peter Facinelli – who plays vampire Carlisle Cullen in the hit movie series – will take part in a celebrity charity bake-off this month.

The actor will go spatula-to-spatula with Joan Cussack and Glee’s Jayma Mays to sell the most cookies in an effort to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

The Celebrity Cookie Challenge online bake sale is sponsored by The Glad Products Company to support Cookies For Kids’ Cancer, a non-profit organization that raises money for research for new and improved treatments for pediatric cancer through bake sales and online cookie sales. Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the United States, yet approximately half of the drugs used to treat children with cancer are at least 20 years old.

It may be the closest you come to a vampire – Carlisle Cullen is auctioning his clothes for charity.

In honor of the release of Twilight: Eclipse in theaters around the world, Peter Facinelli – who plays Dr Cullen in the films – is auctioning clothes from his closet, including blazers and pants.

Proceeds from the auction benefit Clothes Off Our Back’s charities including Feeding America, The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, Malaria No More and Hope North. The auction ends on Thursday, July 15.

Jaden and Willow Smith – the actor children of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – have spoken about their support for PROJECT ZAMBI, a charity initiative started by a group of Hasbro employees to help raise awareness and funds for the estimated 15 million children who have lost parents and relatives to the AIDS epidemic in Africa.

Actor Peter Facinelli is putting his Twitter account to work. The Twilight star is twittering to inform his many followers about the importance of charity.

In June, Facinelli made a bet with his friend, Rob DeFranco: If Facinelli could secure 500,000 Twitter followers; he would get a $10,000 donation and the opportunity to see a bikini clad DeFranco run down Hollywood Boulevard. Facinelli won the bet and with the aid of a friend from Affliction Clothing, donated $10,000 to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Facinelli attributes his charitable success to the power of Twitter. He affirms “[Twitter]… is a very powerful tool… All these people came together on Twitter for this silly, little thing, but imagine what we could do if we come together for something even more powerful.”

Plates for Parkinson’s is a collection of celebrity signed and designed plates that are auctioned on eBay to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s. Celebrities are asked to draw a tulip – the Society’s symbol of hope on a plate – and this year over 40 plates will be auctioned – including designs by Chris Daughtry, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dennis Rodman, Martin Sheen, Jeff Bridges, Rachael Ray, Eartha Kitt, Sidney Crosby, Muhammad Ali, Alan Alda, Robert Downey Jr., Peter Facinelli, The Cast of CSI and many more!
