Environmental activist David Suzuki co-founded the David Suzuki Foundation in 1990 to “find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us.”

Suzuki has spent decades creating television, radio and book series on the environment, including his long-running tv program, The Nature of Things.

At age 73, Suzuki was awarded an honourary Alternative Nobel in 2009 for his efforts to raise awareness about climate chanage.

In 2012, Suzuki stepped down from the board of directors so that he could be more vocal in the media without causing difficulties for his Foundation.
