Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is proud to announce a new public service announcement (PSA) featuring the stellar ensemble cast of the holiday romantic comedy NEW YEAR’S EVE from director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, Valentine’s Day), that will appear in national and regional publications during the month of December.

Glee's Jane Lynch To Host Do Something Charity Awards

DoSomething.org has announced comedic actress and star of “Glee”, Jane Lynch as host of its star-studded “Do Something Awards” live telecast on VH1 on July 19, 2010 at 9PM EDT.

The final five nominees and grant recipients to be honored during the show were also announced. Each nominee is honored for their commitment to service and social change with a community grant of $10,000. Of these five nominees, a grand prize winner will receive a $100,000 grant for their cause during the live broadcast from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel slipped into their charity shoes during the weekend to take part in the annual Revlon Run/Walk For Women in New York.

The 13th annual Entertainment Industry Foundation event started in Times Square and finished in Central Park, attracting thousands of people to raise funds for women’s cancer research, counseling and outreach programs in NYC.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here,” said Berry. “I am walking today on behalf of a friend of mine, Stephanie, who is fighting the fight every day. I feel you, I’m with you, and it’s important that we’re all here today.”

The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) has announced that Revlon Brand Ambassadors Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel – along with America’s favorite doctor, Dr. Oz, and Jesse L. Martin – will host the 2010 EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women in New York with a performance by Trey Songz taking place on Saturday, May 1, 2010.

The following week Julie Bowen (ABC’s Modern Family), James Denton (ABC’s Desperate Housewives), Marg Helgenberger (CBS’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and Carrie Ann Inaba (ABC’s Dancing with the Stars) will co-host the Los Angeles Run/Walk on Saturday, May 8th during Mother’s Day weekend. Live Earth has announced that two-time Grammy Award-winner and one-time Academy Award winner for Best Song for the Al Gore documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” Melissa Etheridge, and multi-platinum three-time Grammy Award-winner Rob Thomas, will perform live at the Los Angeles and Atlanta Dow Live Earth Run for Water events, respectively.

Lupe Fiasco and Jay-Z have taken to the studio to record songs to benefit Haiti after the recent earthquake, which has killed more than 200,000 people.

Lupe, who recently climbed mount Kilimanjaro with Jessica Biel and Emile Hirsch to raise awareness about the world’s water crisis, teamed up with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. Jay-Z worked with U2’s Bono and Swizz Beatz, a producer.

Guitarist The Edge said that Swizz called Bono, saying he and Jay-Z wanted to do something to help Haitians.

Kilimanjaro Climber Offers Free Song From The Summit

Singer Kenna, who was among the team of celebrities to climb to the top of Africa’s highest peak for the Summit on the Summit Kilimanjaro campaign, has released a new song for free to add to his efforts at raising awareness about the global clean water crisis.

The philanthropic star summated Mt. Kilimanjaro on January 12, along with actors Emile Hirsch, Jessica Biel, Isabel Lucas and rapper Lupe Fiasco among others, and now he’s encouraging fans to support the water mission by making his new song “Turn” available for free on his MySpace page. 

In exchange, Kenna’s asking devotees to make a small donation to the Summit charity.

Australian actress Isabel Lucas may currently be climbing Kilimanjaro with a host of her celebrity friends for charity, but just before she left she recorded an advert for the the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

“Isabel was out here late last year and appeared on Rove and said she would love to support us,” said the organisation’s Australian director Jeff Hansen. He went on to explain that the ad was actually filmed last winter, but now is the time to act as the organization battles the Japanese whalers in the Southern Ocean.

The Australian advert coincides with Lucas’ climb for charity.
