  <title>Sharon Corr Wins Cash For Charity</title>
  <description>Irish pop star Sharon Corr took part in a fun evening of charity mayhem on New Years Eve and won over €27,000 (US$38,500) for the homeless.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The musician was part of &lt;em&gt;Celebrity Winning Streak&lt;/em&gt;, and won the money for the Dundalk Simon Community. The Simon Communities are a partnership of homeless people and volunteers living and working together in a spirit of acceptance, tolerance and understanding throughout Ireland. According to the organization: &amp;#8220;The Dundalk Simon Community has been working with people who experience homelessness for over thirty years. Exceptional work with significant outcomes has been achieved over these years and a vibrant and creative community of staff, volunteers, residents and former residents now form the backbone of the organisation. From its beginnings as a soup run in 1973, Dundalk Simon has grown and developed in a manner that has placed the needs of people who are homeless in Dundalk to the forefront of everything we do.&amp;#8221;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Children in Need is a &lt;span class="caps"&gt;BBC&lt;/span&gt; charity that provides practical and lasting support to thousands of youngsters aged 18 and under, including those who have experienced homelessness, neglect, abuse or poverty, and those who&amp;#8217;ve encountered serious illnesses, disabilities, psychological disorders or addictions.

  <description>Former Spice Girl Melanie C is just one of a group of celebrities set to rock the Royal Albert Hall as part of Hard Rock Café&amp;#8217;s Pinktober initiative for breast cancer research.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Joining the British singer will be Joss Stone, 80&amp;#8217;s girl group Bananarama, Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz, Jamelia, Bonnie Tyler, and Escala. Sharon Corr of Irish group The Corrs will also play the Pinktober gig on November 1, presented by Hard Rock Cafe and held in aid of breast cancer charity the Caron Keating Foundation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;#8220;I always try and support as many charities as I can and breast cancer is extra important to me, being a woman &amp;#8211; I hope to make a small difference,&amp;#8221; said Joss Stone.
