J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) is proud to unveil a special new PSA campaign entitled “Help Haiti Home” featuring actors and artists such as Sean Penn, Edward Norton, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, LL Cool J, Eric Dane and Pras describing what home means to them, connecting the dots to the struggles many Haitian people still face.

The project was conceived by actress and advocate Soleil Moon Frye after an inspiring trip to Haiti and a visit to J/P HRO Petionville Camp. She produced the spots and co-directed them along with the help of her brother, renowned photographer Meeno Peluce,

Celebrities To Tell Stories Of CNN Heroes

CNN, the worldwide leader in news, has announced that Dancing with the Stars finalist, and longtime friend to CNN Heroes, J.R. Martinez, has been tapped to co-host the live pre-show from the red carpet for CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute, which will be broadcast LIVE on CNN Sunday, December 11, 2011 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA.

The network also announced that the Top 10 CNN Heroes will each have their story told by celebrities, including The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am, global maternal health advocate and founder of Every Mother Counts, Christy Turlington Burns, and NFL Super Bowl champ and MVP quarterback Kurt Warner.

Stars Donate Ties To Celebrity Charity Auction

Dressing up is a surefire way to feel good, but a number of notable men in the worlds of entertainment, sports and music are doffing their ties to help raise money as part of the Career Gear Celebrity Tie Auction.

Career Gear is a nonprofit organization that assists disadvantaged men in finding and retaining employment through workshops and wardrobe donations. Just in time for the holidays, the organization is auctioning off autographed ties donated by celebrities such as Zach Galifianakis, Jay Leno and Carmelo Anthony to raise funds to sustain its job retention services. In these troubled economic times these gentlemen and others are showing their character by helping men get back to the security and satisfaction of gainful employment.

September 18, 2011 marks the 25th Nautica Malibu Triathlon, one of Southern California’s most anticipated competitions. Hosting some of the world’s finest athletes, philanthropists and celebrities, this event raises money for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’ Pediatric Cancer Research Program.

Looking for a Christmas gift with a difference? A group of celebrities have come up with an initiative that will make Christmas shopping worries a thing of the past.

In association with Toshiba, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Hines Ward, The Office’s Rainn Wilson and actor Omar Epps have designed laptop computers for charity.

Proceeds from the sales will go to each star’s selected charity, includingProject AWARE, the Mount Calvary African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Mona Foundation, and the Helping Hands Foundation.

Rainn Wilson Steps Out Of The Office For Charity

When he’s not on set of NBC’s “The Office,” Rainn Wilson spends some of his time supporting the Mona Foundation.

The Kirkland-based charity helps women and children around the world. The foundation is currently working in 15 different countries.

He said, “It finds schools and orphanages and institutes that are already working, that are founded on a grassroots level in these different countries whether it’s the Amazon, Panama, Tanzania or Haiti, then provides the financial support to grow in an organic way.”

ABC’s Dancing with the Stars judge and iParticipate celebrity ambassador Carrie Ann Inaba donated her time – along with 50-plus volunteers – for a day of service at the Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 21.

The event was part of the iParticipate initiative that Look To The Stars reported on earlier this week, in which celebrities such as Michelle Obama, Blythe Danner, Morgan Freeman, Faith Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Simon Baker (CBS’ The Mentalist), Emily Deschanel (FOX’s Bones), Eva Longoria Parker (ABC’s Desperate Housewives), Julia Louis Dreyfus (CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine), Masi Oka (NBC’s Heroes), Michael Strahan (FOX’s Brothers), Kate Walsh (ABC’s Private Practice) and Rainn Wilson (NBC’s The Office) have joined with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to encourage people to volunteer for good causes.   

Inaba joined her fellow volunteers in sorting and packaging food for distribution to needy residents of Southern Nevada. Three Square is the only food bank in Las Vegas and prepares more than 8 million meals annually for underprivileged families.

Will Ferrell Plays Tennis For Swedish School Charity

On May 2, actor Will Ferrell joined Swedish tennis champion Mats Wilander, Rainn Wilson and Justin Gimelstob for the K-Swiss Global Tennis Showdown in Los Angeles to benefit the Swedish School of LA.

The event kicked off with a humorous tennis match between Ferrell and Wilander – in which Wilander prevailed – and afterwards, guest enjoyed a delicious barbeque and silent auction while taking in a performance from the Dan Band – best known for their performances in the films ‘Old School’ and ‘Wedding Crashers’.

The K-Swiss Global Tennis Showdown in L.A. to benefit the Swedish School of Los Angeles raised more than $50,000.

After various solicitations for his celebrity support and much research into where to put it, actor Rainn Wilson says he’s found the perfect charity: Mona Foundation.

“I wanted to support a place where basically every penny of a donation would go directly to make the world a better place,” he said. “The Mona Foundation does that. I wanted to support a Foundation that makes every person feel like they could make a difference in the world. Mona does that as well. It’s basically the perfect charity. Everything I discovered about what the charity did was utterly fantastic. I believe education is the most important thing in the world. It all begins and ends there. That is what the Foundation supports above all else.”

Wilson became a spokes person for Mona Foundation in 2007 and has been busying himself with awareness and fundraising ever since.

In August, Kenneth Cole New York announced that Kenneth Cole and Jon Bon Jovi have partnered to design a limited-edition outerwear collection that will be made available at Kenneth Cole New York retail stores and Saks Fifth Avenue stores this November.

Proceeds of the exclusive offering will benefit HELP USA, a national not-for-profit organization with a mission to empower the homeless and others in need to become and remain self-reliant. Through the development of quality housing with on-site support services, HELP USA provides resources for its residents to become independent and productive.
