Who will be named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2012? Will it be a longtime vegetarian such as Jessica Chastain and Woody Harrelson, or will newly vegan husband-and-wife team Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor take top honors?

PETA asks visitors to cast their votes at PETA.org for the most sizzling man and woman out of a field of 100 of Hollywood’s hottest.

Chastain’s 15-year commitment to meat-free meals led her to chow down on vegan fried chicken during one scene in The Help—a tactic that the decades-long vegan Harrelson also adopted when he dined on vegan faux Twinkies during Zombieland. Joining these vintage vegetarians in the poll are Anne Hathaway, who has been moving toward a meat-free diet since she was 12, and 2011’s Sexiest Vegetarian, Russell Brand, who went vegetarian at age 14 and writes that he won’t eat fish “because it’s cruel to them, the lovely little things.”

Jason Schwartzman Wonders What To Eat With Less Meat

“What to eat?” It is the question on everyone’s minds at least three times a day — more depending on your appetite — and now a new short film, “What to Eat,” narrated by Jason Schwartzman (star of “Rushmore,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and the HBO series “Bored to Death”) and supported by top environmental organizations including the Sierra Club, Worldwatch Institute, Food and Water Watch, Brighter Green and Farm Sanctuary, aims to show how eating less meat can help lessen the environmental impact of factory farming.

By showing how our food choices have a more serious impact on our environment than the cars we drive, the light bulbs we use or the ways we recycle, the film makes the point that we can all take small steps for positive change.

 The engaging film, produced by Greener Media, puts the viewer in the place of the main character — a relatable family guy voiced by Schwartzman — and follows him through a typical day, beginning with an early morning alarm and traditional breakfast of bacon and eggs, and ending with an epiphany and a surprise dinner that was not on the menu when he first woke up. Viewers tag along as the protagonist navigates his day — the morning commute, the office, lunch — eavesdropping on his often comical — always familiar — inner monologue as he grapples with the universal question of “what to eat.”

Stars from television, film and music have joined Malaria No More to use their talent (and their funny bone) to shine a bright light on the malaria crisis and get people talking about malaria.

Of course, there’s nothing funny about malaria, but comedy can be a powerful tool for bringing the issue to a new audience. Although malaria was eradicated in the United States nearly 60 years ago, many Americans do not know that this preventable and treatable disease continues to claim the lives of more that 850,000 people every year, most of them children under the age of 5 in Africa.

Comedy Fights Malaria takes a brand-new approach to an age-old health issue. Rather than the traditional method of earnest appeals for aid, Comedy Fights Malaria focuses first and foremost on providing entertaining content in the form of web videos, public service announcements and character sketches to educate and engage a new audience in the fight against malaria.

Be Part Of A Charity Night Of Funny People

Do you want to be an extra in a star-studded new movie and help charity at the same time? Well, here is your big break!

Universal Pictures, in association with The Improv Comedy Club, is presenting “A Night of Funny People” at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 13. The show is a one-time-only comedy performance that will be filmed for use in Universal Pictures’ upcoming feature Funny People – from writer/director/producer Judd Apatow – and the film’s stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, RZA, Aubrey Plaza and Aziz Ansari will all be taking part in character.

“A Night of Funny People” will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society and 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages six to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
