Charity biography

Canadian band Rush, formed in the late sixties, began as a three-piece heavy-metal group but since then have progressed through hard-rock, prog rock and then moving on to creating more synthesized sound.
In 1994, Rush was inducted into the Candian Hall of Fame and has also won a number of Juno Awards for their music.
They recently met with Little Kids Rock and helped them raise funds in conjunction with Musician’s Friend. They have also donated significant amounts of money to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights and give the profits of their merchandise to the cause.
Band members have also helped UNICEF by donating $50 of every personalised amplifier sold by one of the band’s sponsers, Lifeson.
They also featured on the charity album, Songs for Tibet, which was released in 2008 in aid of the ongoing crisis in the country.
