Stars To Journey Through Africa At Los Angeles Charity Carnival

On Sunday, June 12, a host of celebrities will take a journey through Africa with L.A.’s most talked about family carnival and picnic!

Dozens of celebrities will be on hand at the 22nd annual A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival sponsored by Disney – a benefit for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Each year, Hollywood’s best-known celebrities volunteer their time as “heroes” working carnival-style game booths to raise funds to fight pediatric AIDS around the world.

Some of the stars confirmed to attend the Africa-themed event include Tatyana Ali, Anne Heche, Whitney Port, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Denise Richards, Tom Arnold, Ali Landry, Cheryl Burke, Kyle Massey, Chris Massey, Ashley Tisdale, Minnie Driver, Olivia Munn and many more.

Joan Jett To Headline Celebrity Charity Race To Erase MS

Joan Jett and The Blackhearts will headline the 18th annual Race To Erase MS on Friday, April 29, with Nicky and Paris Hilton scheduled to be among the guests.

The annual event raises money for the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis. This year’s event will be hosted by Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger, with guests including Ed Begley Jr., Brooke Burke, Tia Carrere, Aaron Carter, Kristin Cavallari, Joan Collins, Holly Marie Combs, David Faustino, Daisy Fuentes, Greg Grunberg, Melissa Joan Hart, Anne Heche, Jon Lovitz, Shaun Robinson, Raven Symone and many more.

Co-Chairs Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger welcome celebrity guests to the 18th Anniversary of Race to Erase MS themed Rock and Royalty. The event will feature live musical performances by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Clay Walker and more to be announced. On January 24th, Poison frontman Bret Michaels went in to surgery to repair a hole in his heart, while his fans got busy showing him some love.

During the time Bret was in surgery, there was a huge influx of donations to one of his favorite charities, the American Diabetes Association, leading him to release a statement through his rep.

“Bret would like to send out a big thank you to all those who donated to the ADA,” his rep told Hollywood Life. “He is extremely appreciative of this incredible support.”

Multiple Sclerosis Month Benefits From Celebrity Power

Avril Lavigne, Tia Carrere and Tom Arnold are just several of the celebrities lending their support to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) survivor and advocate Nancy Davis for May’s MS Awareness Month.

Davis kicked off the initiative last weekend at Kitson on Melrose with the help of a newly formed Junior Committee devoted to the cause. Inspired by Nancy’s dedication to finding a cure, the group of Los Angeles high school students formed the Junior Committee to raise funds and awareness for Race to Erase MS and the Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis.

“I was just at the Race to Erase MS kick-off event at Kitson Melrose and WOW, what an amazing turnout in support of the fight to erase MS!” writes Avril on her Facebook page. “May is Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness month and throughout the month, Kitson will sell a variety of orange products with 100% of the sales going to benefit the Nancy Davis Foundation in the fight against MS. Teacher Rex Roland tries to relate to his students on ‘their own level,’ but his methods are controversial; he has called the school-kids names such as ‘Loser’ and ‘Meanness’, and thrown their personal items, such as pencil cases, into the hall.

He recently made headlines after a mother defended her daughter against his abusive actions: Roland has repeatedly written notes such as “-20% for being a loser” on the 6th grader’s homework, despite being asked to stop.

Tom Arnold To Auction Motorcycle

Actor Tom Arnold will be auctioning off a very special motorcycle next month for a couple of very special charities.

The 49-year-old actor will join fellow motorcycle enthusiasts at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio, over the next two days to celebrate the grand opening of the Museum’s latest exhibit, “MotoStars: Celebrities and Motorcycles.”

The exhibition will include over 100 of the America’s most passionate celebrity motorbike enthusiasts, their motorcycles and personal memorabilia, and one of the most talked-about items on display is a 2008 Victory Vision Street motorcycle commissioned by Arnold for a charity auction to be held on eBay next month. The bike was designed by special effects wizard Stan Winston, who passed away earlier this month. The design of the bike was inspired by the current box office hit Iron Man – the last movie Winston worked on.

Comic Relief Brings Laughter to New Orleans

Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams are back to host the 20th Anniversary of the US Comic Relief event this Saturday, November 19th. After an eight-year hiatus, the beloved event has returned to raise funds for New Orleans and the people still suffering from the effects of last year’s hurricane. Comedians such as Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Ray Romano and Roseanne Barr have joined the cause.

The show will take place at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas as part of The Comedy Festival, with tickets starting at $95. For those unable to attend in person, the three-hour concert will appear simultaneously on HBO and TBS from 9pm to Midnight EST.

This year a special Comic Relief concert has been scheduled in New Orleans to coincide with the regular Las Vegas show. The event will be held at Harrah’s Fulton Street promenade and is free to the public. Wayne Brady is the host of this show, and he will be joined by entertainers such as Louie Anderson and Tom Arnold.
