Camp Ronald McDonald Gets Celebrity Help For Charity Halloween Party

Los Angeles families and celebrities are dusting off their Halloween costumes and gearing up for one of LA’s biggest family Halloween events, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times’ 18th Annual Halloween Carnival presented by JAKKS Cares, the philanthropic arm of JAKKS Pacific, Inc.

The Carnival, which raises money for Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, has grown exponentially over the last 17 years, raising more than $7 million through ticket sales for this annual event. Proceeds will help provide medically supervised year-round, cost-free sleep-away Camp programs for children with cancer and their families. Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times provides fun, friendships and a place to renew their spirits. For more than 28 years, Camp has been able to offer these services all through donations and fundraising events such as this.

Expected to attend this year’s event are Michael Chiklis, Tori Spelling, Alison Sweeney, Billy Bush, Samantha Harris and many more.

Eva Longoria To Launch TwitChange Celebrity Charity Auction

Eva Longoria has taken to Twitter to encourage her celebrity friends to support charity.

The Desperate Housewives superstar has enlisted the help of the stars to launch TwitChange, a massive online auction that will hit the Net on September 15. The idea is simple: TwitChange is the only global celebrity auction where Twitter users can bid to get three things: be followed by their favorite celebrity on Twitter, retweeted, or mentioned by them in a special tweet!

All proceeds from the TwitChange celebrity auction will provide AHomeInHaiti.org the means to ﬁnish rebuilding the Miriam Center. The Miriam Center houses, educates and loves on Haitian children with cerebral palsy, severe autism, and other major life challenges and is one of the only facilities of its kind in Haiti. The current facility houses children in the earthquakeʼs aftermath and is extremely overcrowded. These kids need and deserve a permanent home.

Celebrities To Kick It For Kenya At Charity Concert

A host of celebrities will attend a special benefit concert for Mama na Dada, a non-profit, non-governmental organization formed by and for African women to support the empowerment of the African girl child.

The Let’s Kick It For Kenya concert on June 4 will be headlined by 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons, and will also feature a performance by Ambrose and others.

The concert will raise funds for Mama na Dada’s girls’ soccer programs. Initiated earlier this year, the programs allow young girls in African villages learn co-operative team building and conflict resolution through sport. Find out more here.

Acts of Love is Autism Speaks’ annual awards reception celebrating those who have made a difference in the Autism Community. The event raises funds and awareness which allows Autism Speaks to continue its work in finding a cure for autism.

International performers and celebrities including Adam Arkin, Benjamin Bratt, Austin Butler and Michael Chiklis, make up some of the cast which will perform an array of readings and quotes for the 7th Annual Acts of Love event. Look To The Stars is proud to be associated with a special charity party being held in Hollywood this weekend featuring a number of celebrity guests.

The Bash has been organized by a group of teenage girls – Teens Helping Teens – including Hayley Hasselhoff – daughter of David – and Autumn Chiklis, daughter of Michael Chiklis, who wanted to support the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The founders of the event are Nathalia Ramos (Disney Bratz) and Bosilika An, and the board includes Mady Feder, Marissa Lepor, Savanah Slotkin, Ellen Basser and Zelda Williams (daughter of Robin Williams).

“Around Christmas, Teens Helping Teens noticed that the teens in the hospital were really lacking things to keep them entertained,” explained David Hasselhoff. "The kids that have to stay in the hospital are often there for a really long time and a lot of them are in isolation wards and can’t really communicate with anyone but the nurses and their families. The girls of Teens Helping Teens went around and asked all these kids what they wanted the most to make their stay more comfortable and almost all of them said they wanted a computer or a PlayStation or something that would occupy them without risking them getting sick.

David Hasselhoff joined his daughter and a group of Hollywood teens at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles during Easter to visit the patients, and Look To The Stars was there.

Actress Kristen Bell was one of the many stars to attend the 17th annual Alzheimer’s Association A Night At Sardi’s event in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, March 4.

Held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the event attracted stars such as Jason Alexander, Vanessa Williams, Dick Van Dyke, Michelle Pfeiffer, P. Diddy, Greg Kinnear, Zachary Levi, Michael Chiklis and William Shatner, and honored the producers of Fox Sports and the TV show “Friday Night Lights”.

The charity event is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association, garnering over $17 million since it was first held.

Stars and food converged at Kitchen Academy in Hollywood last night for a party launching The Hollywood Cookbook — a beautiful 271-page hardcover collection of sumptuous recipes, each accompanied by a large photo, from the personal kitchens of 20 celebrities and 6 world-class chefs. Five dollars from each purchase benefits 20 important charities dear to the hearts of the celebrity contributors.

The cookbook covers the spectrum of food and beverage, from appetizers, soups and salads, to main courses, desserts, and even cocktails. Michael J. Fox’s Barn Dance Chicken, and Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford’s Savory Fall Stew are just two of the 107 creative and simple dishes that can be duplicated in any kitchen regardless of culinary skill level. Chefs Wolfgang Puck, Mario Batali, Joachim Splichal, Nick Stellino, Michael Cimarusti and Rocco DiSpirito also contributed recipes to the book.

At the event, the students of Kitchen Academy prepared and served 20 recipes featured in the cookbook, each one tastier than the last. This reporter’s favorite: Door Knob Sweet Potato Balls (an appetizer) from designer Paige Hemmis of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Yum!
