  <title>GLAAD Announces Media Award Nominees</title>
  <description>The Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;GLAAD&lt;/span&gt;), the nation&amp;#8217;s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt;) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, has announced the nominees for its 23rd Annual &lt;span class="caps"&gt;GLAAD&lt;/span&gt; Media Awards. By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; community, the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;GLAAD&lt;/span&gt; Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD&amp;#8217;s work to bring &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; images and stories to Americans.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Among the nominees: Beginners, starring Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor, Albert Nobbs, starring Glenn Close and Janet McTeer, J. Edgar, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer, Showtime&amp;#8217;s hit shows Shameless and The Big C, Glee, Modern Family, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CBS&lt;/span&gt; ratings leader &lt;span class="caps"&gt;NCIS&lt;/span&gt;, Becoming Chaz, the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; documentary We Were Here, Dancing with the Stars with Carson Kressley and Chaz Bono, the wedding of a gay staffer on Conan, David Letterman&amp;#8217;s interview with Chaz Bono, CNN&amp;#8217;s Anderson Cooper 360, TheRoot.com&amp;#8217;s &amp;#8220;Black and Transgender: A Double Burden,&amp;#8221; and Lady Gaga for her Born This Way album.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Denise Richards Designs Shoes For Charity</title>
  <description>Kick off 2012 in style with ShoeDazzle and the newest member of the fast-growing &amp;#8220;Celebrity Shoe Design Program for Charity,&amp;#8221; actress, model and mother of three – Denise Richards.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Joining forces with ShoeDazzle designers, Richards has created a light pink and gold embellished peep-toe sling back pump, with a gold metallic pin heel in honor of her mom, who passed away from kidney cancer. The shoe will be available in ShoeDazzle showrooms on January 16th. 100% of the profits from sales of her shoe will be donated to the Kidney Cancer Association (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;KCA&lt;/span&gt;), a charitable organization which helps fund, promote and collaborate with the National Cancer Institute (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;NCI&lt;/span&gt;), American Society for Clinical Oncology (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;ASCO&lt;/span&gt;), American Urological Association (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;AUA&lt;/span&gt;), and other institutions, on research projects.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In addition, one lucky fan will have lunch with Denise Richards. Four runners-up in this special contest will receive an iPod Shuffle. &lt;p&gt;Wearing purple on this day symbolizes support for &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; people and against bullying of &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; teens.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class="caps"&gt;GLAAD&lt;/span&gt; is working with organizations including the American Federation of Teachers (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;AFT&lt;/span&gt;), the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;PACER&lt;/span&gt; Center, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;GLSEN&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;GSA&lt;/span&gt; Network, the Human Rights Campaign (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;HRC&lt;/span&gt;), &lt;span class="caps"&gt;PFLAG&lt;/span&gt; and The Trevor Project as part of National Bullying Prevention Month to inspire Americans to wear purple on Spirit Day.

  <title>Celebrities To Hit The Streets For AIDS Walk Los Angeles</title>
  <description>Over 30,000 people are expected to fill the streets for the 27th annual &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; Walk Los Angeles this weekend, including some of your favorite celebrities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Since its inception in 1985, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; Walk Los Angeles has benefited &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; Project Los Angeles (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;APLA&lt;/span&gt;), an &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; service organization dedicated to: improving the lives of people affected by &lt;span class="caps"&gt;HIV&lt;/span&gt; disease; reducing the incidence of &lt;span class="caps"&gt;HIV&lt;/span&gt; infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV–related public policy. &lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; Walk Los Angeles makes it possible for &lt;span class="caps"&gt;APLA&lt;/span&gt; to provide urgently needed food, dental care, safe housing, and much more to people with &lt;span class="caps"&gt;HIV&lt;/span&gt;/&lt;span class="caps"&gt;AIDS&lt;/span&gt; who also face poverty, hunger, and homelessness. &lt;span class="caps"&gt;APLA&lt;/span&gt; also runs the county&amp;#8217;s largest network of &lt;span class="caps"&gt;HIV&lt;/span&gt; prevention programs to end the epidemic in Los Angeles.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The event takes place on Sunday, October 16, and among the celebrity faces you will see will be Drew Carey (&amp;#8220;The Price Is Right&amp;#8221;), Conchata Ferrell (&amp;#8220;Two and a Half Men&amp;#8221;), Barrett Foa (&amp;#8220;&lt;span class="caps"&gt;NCIS&lt;/span&gt;: Los Angeles&amp;#8221;), Dot Marie Jones (&amp;#8220;Glee&amp;#8221;), Carson Kressley (television personality and &amp;#8220;Dancing with the Stars&amp;#8221; contestant), Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman (&amp;#8220;Raising Hope&amp;#8221;), Pauley Perrette (&amp;#8220;&lt;span class="caps"&gt;NCIS&lt;/span&gt;: Naval Criminal Investigation Service&amp;#8221;), and Louis Van Amstel (&amp;#8220;Dancing with the Stars&amp;#8221;).
