Rachael Ray To Host Celebrity Charity Cook-Off

Two of Food Network’s biggest icons, Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri, will square off against each other for culinary bragging rights in Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off, premiering Sunday, January 1st at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

In this six-episode competition series, the Emmy-winning talk show host Rachael Ray and best-selling cookbook author and successful restaurateur Guy Fieri, will each serve as coaches and mentors to eight multi-talented celebrities, all of whom are passionate about food and cooking. Divided into ‘Team Rachael’ and ‘Team Guy’, each episode features celebrity contestants battling it out in a fun, fast-paced culinary fight-to-the-finish, with the two bottom-rated contestants from the losing team going head-to-head in a blind tasting elimination challenge. In the end, the last contestant standing is crowned king or queen of the Celebrity Cook- Off and wins $50,000 for the charity they are playing to support.

Emerging Magazine Celebrity Charity Events will present the 2010 Television & Music Video Awards Luxury Party, September 11, 2010, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Beverly Hills, California to benefit Shining Star Kids of America.

The event was originally slated for August 27 & 28, 2010. Staff and sponsors requested the date be moved to include the American Music Awards Nominees, while celebrating Emmy Nominees, as well as past and present television stars.

“After discussing the date change with executives participating in the event, the agreement to change dates has proven to be the right choice,” says Emerging Magazine Managing Director, S. Rothe du Bois. “Our concern has been focused on what is best for the charity,” he adds.

Celebrities Gather For Global Green Pre-Oscar Party

Celebrities, artists, actors, industry executives, and environmentalists joined Global Green USA CEO Matt Petersen for the 5th Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party last Wednesday, February 20, at the Avalon Nightclub in Hollywood.

The theme of this year’s event was “Time To Act: Reduce your Carbon Footprint today: Drive Green, Live Green, Vote Green”. The evening, emceed by HBO’s ‘Real Time’ host Bill Maher, raised $420,000 to benefit Global Green’s climate change initiatives, which include the green rebuilding of New Orleans.

“There are a lot of people in this town who talk a lot about (the issue), but these guys (Global Green) are actually doing something,” said Maher, who arrived at the event in a hybrid SUV.
