Leading cancer care charity Macmillan Cancer Support recently asked its celebrity supporters – including Kylie Minogue, Keira Knightley, Sting, Alesha Dixon, Joanna Lumley, James Corden, Anna Friel and Seth Rogen – to share their 100th birthday wishes in a short film 100 Years Of Macmillan: A Birthday Tribute.

The short film premiered at The Macmillan Centenary Gala, an all-star evening of entertainment hosted by Graham Norton at The London Palladium on Monday 28 November.

Acting royalty Dame Helen Mirren wished for a very high heeled pair of shoes comfortable enough to walk around in all day for her 100th birthday, while TV presenter Amanda Holden would love to look 75 years younger if she reaches 100. Funny man Ricky Gervais wished for a real life hoverboard from the film ‘Back To The Future’ while Myleene Klass’ dream present would be a grand piano which she could shrink and carry around in her handbag.

Kylie Minogue Donates Lexus To Charity Auction

Kylie Minogue has donated her car to a charity auction to raise money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

The NSPCC is holding its annual City Of London Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 1, at the Savoy, and Kylie has given her Lexus CT200h to the charity to put under the hammer.

“I am delighted to be donating my Lexus CT200h to the NSPCC for their City of London Christmas dinner, with all the proceeds going to their Helpline,” said Kylie. “I have been driving it throughout 2011 and I hope that the generous bidder gets as much enjoyment out of it as I have!”

Stars Line Up For Annual BBC Children In Need Charity Appeal

Sir Terry Wogan, Fearne Cotton, Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon have been announced as presenters for one of the biggest nights in the TV calendar, the BBC Children in Need’s annual Appeal, live from Television Centre on Friday 18 November.

With even more associated programing than ever before, this will see the high point of the 2011 campaign. TV’s biggest names will give their all with a massive array of sketches, musical acts, live guests and plenty of glamour.

One Direction open the proceedings as the traditional BBC Children in Need Appeal telethon starts at 7:30pm. A whole host of music guests will follow, including JLS, Westlife, Susan Boyle and The Collective (featuring Gary Barlow, Ed Sheeran, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Ms. Dynamite, Tulisa, Wretch 32, Rizzle Kicks, MzBratt, Dot Rotten and Labrinth) who will sing the BBC Children in Need single ‘Teardrop’.

Stars To Attend amfAR Inspiration Gala In Los Angeles

The American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) will host its Inspiration Gala Los Angeles on Thursday, October 27, and will have plenty of celebrity support.

Hosted by Andy Cohen – and with performances by Sinead O’Connor and Deborah Harry – the fantastic evening will include a special tribute to Elizabeth Taylor presented by Sandra Bullock. Guests expected include Chelsea Handler, Kevin Huvane and Kenneth Cole.

amfAR launched the Inspiration series in 2010 with events in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles. The first round of celebrity charity auctions to benefit two schools damaged in the devastating Christchurch earthquake ended last night, with a new round starting today.

Stars 4 Kids has been set up to raise funds for two Christchurch schools, Shirley Primary and Avonside Girls’ High, both badly damaged in the February 22nd earthquake that killed over 160 people and left thousands without homes and jobs. The auction will be run through New Zealand’s #1 auction site – Trade Me – and can also be accessed by Australia.

The auction that just ended saw a signed photo of Johnny Depp go under the hammer for over NZ$500, a rugby league hat signed by Russell Crowe go for NZ$266, a book signed by British Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson sell for NZ$102, while DVDs and a hat signed by The Mentalist star Simon Baker brought in NZ$200. Kylie Minogue has teamed up with a Japanese rapper to release a special charity single to raise funds for those affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

Kylie has released the video for the new song – titled We Are One – with rapper VERBAL on YouTube, along with a plea to donate to UNICEF Japan.

“We wanted to let you know that we have recorded a song to help Japan and its people, who have always been so kind to me over the many years I have been coming here,” she says at the start of the video. “It’s going to be available for you to listen to and to make your donations to on YouTube, and we hope you like it.”

Celebrity Guests Announced For Charity Cannes Gala

The annual star-studded event at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, will include a formal dinner and a world-renowned live auction, all to benefit amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Stars Tweet Support For New Zealand Earthquake Victims

Stars have already reacted to news of New Zealand’s devastating earthquake, which struck the South Island city of Christchurch yesterday.

Emergency workers are currently struggling to free hundreds of people trapped after the quake struck at around 1pm local time. 38 bodies have been identified, with the death toll expected to rise with the sun this morning.

Stars have taken to Twitter to send their wishes to those affected by the disaster, while some are encouraging fans to give to charity.

Dozens of artists, including Sting, Bon Jovi, Pink, Bob Dylan and Kings Of Leon have donated tracks to a CD benefitting the Queensland flood victims.

Flood Relief – Artists For The Flood Appeal will also feature songs from Australian bands Powderfinger, Crowded House and Midnight Oil.

59 previously-released tracks have been donated by the bands for the three-disc compilation, including songs by Beyoncé, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters and Keith Urban.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall attended a massive charity rock concert in London last night to benefit the Prince’s Trust.

Phil Collins, Tom Jones, Jamie Cullum, Eric Clapton, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Status Quo, Live Aid creator Midge Ure and many others hit the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on November 17 for the charity’s Rock Gala 2010. The evening was hosted by comedian Rob Brydon, Barry Humphries as his hilarious alter ego Dame Edna Everage. The show was filmed in 3D for a future release.

In the 1980s The Prince’s Trust was synonymous with the Rock Gala. The fundraising concerts were created when the UK economy was gripped by inflation, strikes and high unemployment following recession. Britain’s youth had little hope and no future. The Trust called upon supporters including Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Brian May and Tina Turner to form ‘super groups’, raising money to help the most disadvantaged young people.

Kylie Minogue To Hold Benefit Concert For Cancer Awareness

To commemorate her May 2004 diagnosis of breast cancer, Kylie Minogue will be holding a benefit concert in February and will donate the money raised for cancer awareness.

“Early next year it will be my five years all clear and I would like to do something to mark that – something like a benefit concert. We are going to try and arrange something with my professor in Paris.” Minogue said to The Sunday Mirror. The concert is Minogue’s way of thanking her doctor who was responsible for her treatment.

The concert is expected to have performances by Elton John, Robbie Williams and The Scissor Sisters, a band from New York City.

The celebration of men’s fashion honored Jean-Paul Gaultier, and featured an auction that raised US$180,000 for AIDS Research. Items that went under the hammer included a dress owned by Kylie and much more.

amfAR, The American Foundation for AIDS Research, will launch the Inspiration Galas – a series of fundraising events celebrating all aspects of men’s style – this week. The series, produced by Josh Wood Productions, will take place in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles.

   Kylie Minogue, the international pop star and style icon who is preparing to release her eleventh studio album, will host the inaugural Inspiration Gala at the New York Public Library on Thursday, June 3, 2010.

“I’m honored to join the list of prestigious designers as the host of amfAR’s inaugural Inspiration Gala at the historical New York Public Library and to help raise awareness and funds for AIDS research,” she said.
